Description
А. Я. Recently, the issue of processing natural sodium sulphate to soda and sulfur through sodium sulphide after a whole series of experimental work has become quite relevant. In the final design, the process is as follows. Natural sulphate (mirabilite) is dehydrated, after which anhydrous sodium sulphate in furnaces is reduced to sodium sulphate in coal. The resulting melt (sulphide) is leached and the solutions are subjected to carbonization, which takes place in two stages. In the first stage, at a temperature of about 100, the sulphate solution is carbonized to form sodium carbonate in solution. The insoluble impurities are separated and the soda liquors obtained are subjected to secondary carbonation to form bicarbonate in the precipitate. After separation of the mother liquor, the bicarbonate is subjected to calcination. In the above scheme, the carbonization of both hot and cold is performed in high metal columns of the Solve type with a rather complex arrangement. The consumption of carbon dioxide per ton of soda is quite significant. Thus, according to the calculated data of Lengiprokhim, 1 tn of soda during cold carbonization consumes 1270 m of 30% CO2 at a coefficient of gas utilization in% / o. Yksnert G. A. Yakozkin Editor 3. The proposed method, which is a modification of Leblanovsky, provides for the implementation of carbonization in only one stage, namely the hot one.
The fact that the sulfur is liberated from the liquor after the hot carbonization of the sodium sulphide solution is produced by salting out mono-aqueous solutions or sodium sulphide crystals. In this case, sodium sulphide salines soda in the form of NajCOs HjO. The mother liquor is separated by centrifugal and proceeds to leach or dehydrate mirabilite or to hot carbonation. The soda precipitate is washed and dried. The proposed modification of the process for producing soda sulfate from sodium sulphate has the advantage of reducing the consumption of carbon dioxide as well as capital costs (column). The process of salting soda can be carried out in ordinary tanks with agitators.
