Description
The technique uses the method of producing lower boiling hydrocarbons by treating them with steam above boiling hydrocarbons at high temperature and pressure.
Использованный при гидрировании водород может быть замещен вод ным паром или смесью вод ного пара и водорода .The proposed method of hydrogenating COAL, resins, mineral oils, etc., is that they are exposed to gases containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide or water vapor in the presence of catalysts that promote the formation of methyl alcohol from carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Vanadic acid, manganese, uranium, titanium and chromic acid oxides, zinc oxide, a mixture of oxides of the latter with oxides of uranium, lead, titanium, chromium, manganese, etc. can serve as such catalysts. . As a result of this treatment, gasolines, other hydrocarbons, methyl alcohol and higher oxygen containing organic compounds are obtained - products suitable for internal combustion engines. The apparatus, when conducting the reaction, is made of a material that does not promote the release of coal and the formation of low-value and difficult to work in a circular process of methane, as well as not subjected to the action of sulfur, or is supplied inside with a jacket that eliminates the above-mentioned adverse effects. The hydrogen used in the hydrogenation can be replaced by water vapor or a mixture of water vapor and hydrogen.
Example - A pair of coal tar, together with a gas mixture consisting of 10% carbon monoxide and hydrogen at a pressure of 200 atmospheres and a temperature of about 450 °, is passed over a contact consisting of 90 parts of zinc oxide and 10 parts of chromic acid. By cooling, a product is obtained which contains, next to methyl alcohol and newly formed oxygen compounds, near gasoline. High-boiling products are no longer foamy and can be processed into lubricating oils, etc., or subjected to the above treatment again for further conversion to methanol and gasoline. Water gas, when added to it instead of consumed portion of a portion of fresh gas, re-enters a circular process.
