Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to molds for hot pressing of articles from powders, mainly amorphous materials.
The purpose of the invention is to provide an amorphous structure of the material during the pressing process
The drawing shows a diagram of the proposed mold.
Mold for hot pressing of products It consists of a moving upper 1 and lower 2 punches, a separable matrix 3, made in an alternating form of thermally conductive (layer 4) and insulating (layer 5) materials along its vertical axis. Copper can be used as a heat-conducting material; mica can be used as an insulating material.
Poins on I and 2 are made of copper and connected to a pulsed current source (not shown). The cavity 6 between the punches 1 and 2 and the die 3 is designed to load the powder.
The mold works as follows.
Powder of amorphous material is loaded into cavity 6, compression force is applied to punches I and 2 (on the order of 10-100 kgf / mm). After that, an electric current pulse is applied to the punches, as a result of which the powder is quickly heated to the sintering temperature. After the current is disconnected, the sintered material is rapidly cooled, which is caused by heat removal through the thermal layer.

The presence of layers of insulating material (mica) in the matrix prevents the flow of current through the matrix and its heating.
The cooling rate of the product in the proposed mold is from 2.4 to 10 degrees / s (with a product thickness of 10 mm) to 9.4 -h 105 degrees / s (with a thickness of 0.5 mm). This range of cooling rates ensures that the amorphous structure is preserved during the extrusion of most materials.
By using a mold, in which the thickness of the insulating layers is 3-20 µm, and the thickness of the heat-conducting layers is 0.1-0.5 mm, 1 mm thick articles can be made from an iron-chromium alloy in an amorphous state. The duration of the heating of the powder was 10 s, the cooling rate was 10 K / s.
Similar results can be obtained for a palladium-silicon alloy at a cooling rate of 10 K / s. In this case, the product of the specified alloy has an amorphous structure.
При использовании известных пресс- Форм сохранить аморфное состо ние сплава палладий - кремний и железо- хромистых сплавов в процессе прессовани не удаетс ,- а использование предлагаемой пресс-формы позвол ет сохранить аморфное состо ние материала в процессе прессовани изделий .When using known molds, the amorphous state of the palladium-silicon alloy and iron-chromium alloys cannot be preserved during the pressing process, and the use of the proposed mold allows the amorphous state of the material to be maintained during the extrusion process.
