The de- tection system includes a separate sampler, at least one disposable detection vessel for receiving and processing a test sample and a detection device for measuring a fluores- cent signal. SPNs derived from aptamer that bind allergens are also provided as al- 30 lergen detection agents. SPNs have a single open structure, and are probed with a fluorophore. Changes in fluorescence polarization of detection agents upon the binding of allergens are measured to cal- culate the allergen content in a sample.
