Abstract

An element absorbing the energy which derives as a result of a suddenly exerted force, acting on fastening security systems, such as vehicle seat belts, protection belts against fall, systems for shielding and protection from side collisions of automobile doors, parachutes, ejectable seats of fighter planes, etc. is characterised by that it operates alternatively or in combination with linear tear-off, detachment, and deformation of a metallic blade 15 along the length of predetermined deformation lines 16a,16b and may be activated at will for a range of values of the suddenly exerted force with differentiation of the parameters of the predetermined deformation lines along the length of the element, whereas it contains apart of the deformed metallic blade an independent mobile part 24 along the length of the blade for the transfer of the suddenly exerted force to the blade and a carrier of the deformation. The element for absorbing the energy, due to use of the said independent part, maintains the same length before and after its action.
