Description

A shaft pipe collection module TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a shaft pipe collection module and to a method for providing pipes into a shaft of a building.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Pipes are usually provided into a shaft of a building by a plumber at some point of the building process. One problem related to this is that an open shaft at a building site can be a safety risk for the workers. Another problem related to the connection of pipes in a building is that a possible leakage of a connection needs to be able to detect. If a leakage is not detected in time the leakage can cause big damages to the materials in the building.
SUMMARY An object of the present invention is to provide an improved device and method for installing pipes in a shaft of a building. An object is to improve safety and efficiency during the installation of the pipes.
This is achieved in a shaft pipe collection module to be provided in a shaft for pipes in a building, said shaft pipe collection module comprising: - a support structure arranged for holding pipe sections to be provided in the shaft pipe collection module, which pipe sections will be protruding out on both sides of a floor structure in which the shaft is provided when the shaft pipe collection module is mounted to this floor structure of the shaft; and - a leakage collection device comprising openings for receiving the pipe sections, said leakage collection device being arranged to collect possible leakage from connections of other pipes to the pipe sections protruding through the openings of the leakage collection device.
This is also achieved in a method for providing pipes into a shaft of a building, said method comprising the steps of: - collecting pipe sections to be provided in the shaft in a shaft pipe collection module according to the invention; - providing the pipe sections through openings in a leakage collection device of the shaft pipe collection module; - mounting the shaft pipe collection module in a shaft of a building; - connecting the shaft pipe collection module by floor structure connection means to a floor structure where the shaft is provided; - connecting other pipes to the pipe sections provided in the shaft pipe collection module.
Hereby a shaft pipe collection module is provided which should be positioned in a shaft of a building. Hereby the safety risk of having a shaft open during building is eliminated. Furthermore the providing of pipes to a shaft of a building is more efficient with this invention because the pipes are already provided in the shaft pipe collection module and connections between pipe sections can be provided at a convenient working height between floors of the building. Even further any leakage from pipe connections are effectively collected by the leakage collection device and no further measures need to be taken for leakage detection.
Different embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.

Figure 2 shows a top view of the shaft pipe collection module as shown in Figure 1. Figure 3 shows two shaft pipe collection modules according to one embodiment of the invention mounted in a respective floor structure of a shaft.
Figure 4 shows a flow chart of the method according to the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS According to the invention a shaft pipe collection module 1 to be provided in a shaft for pipes in a building is provided. The shaft pipe collection module 1 is hereafter also called the module 1. One embodiment of the invention is shown in Figures 1 and 2, where Figure 2 is a top view of Figure 1. In Figure 3 two shaft pipe collection modules according to the invention are shown mounted to one floor structure 2, 2' each of a shaft. The shaft pipe collection module 1 comprises according to the invention a support structure 3 arranged for holding pipe sections 5 to be provided in the module 1. The pipe sections 5 will be protruding out on both sides of a floor structure in which the shaft is provided when the module 1 is mounted to this floor structure of the shaft. The pipe sections 5 provided in the module 1 can be provided with or without insulation. The shaft pipe collection module 1 further comprises a leakage collection device 7 comprising openings 9 for receiving the pipe sections 5 one in each opening 9. The leakage collection device 7 is arranged to collect possible leakage from connections of other pipes to the pipe sections 5 protruding through the openings 9 of the leakage collection device 7.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1 and 2 eight pipe sections 5 are shown to be enclosed by the support structure 3. The number of pipe sections could however be varied. In the embodiment shown in Figure 3 seven pipe sections 5 are shown. One of the pipe sections 5' in both Figure 1, 2 and 3 is shown to have a larger diameter. Such a pipe with larger diameter can be used as waste pipe for, for example WC and draining gutter. More than one pipe section with a larger diameter can also be provided in the shaft pipe collection module. The pipe section diameters can be varied as well as the number of pipe sections. The support structure 3 can comprise a rectangular box frame 11 as shown in these embodiments of the invention. The frame 11 encloses one part of the tube sections 5. This is the part of the tube sections 5 that is protruding above the floor structure 2, 2' when the module is mounted to the floor structure 2, 2'. In this embodiment the frame 11 is connected to the leakage collection device 7. The frame 11 of the support structure 3 is arranged to hold the leakage collection device 7 at a distance above the floor structure 2, 2' when the shaft pipe collection module 1 is mounted to the floor structure 2, 2' of the shaft. The shaft pipe collection module 1 comprises further floor structure connection means 13 connected to the support structure 3 for connecting the shaft pipe collection module 1 to the floor structure 2, 2'.
In this embodiment the support structure 3 comprises further a stabilization plate 15 connected to the frame 11. The stabilization plate 15 is provided perpendicular to the pipe sections 5 extension direction. The stabilization plate 15 comprises openings 17 for receiving the pipe sections 5 one in each opening 17. These openings 17 can be dimensioned for pipe sections 5 of different diameters and with or without insulation. The stabilization plate 15 comprises further according to this invention at least one mold opening 19 through which concrete can be provided when the shaft opening in the floor structure needs to be molded after mounting of the module 1. The stabilization plate 15 is in this embodiment arranged to be provided essentially in the level of the floor structure or a few centimeters above when the shaft pipe collection module 1 is mounted to the floor structure. However the stabilization plate 15 can instead be provided further away from the floor structure and closer to the leakage collection device 7. The stabilization plate 15 can be connected to the frame 11, possibly in the corners. The main purpose of the stabilization plate 15 is to hold the pipe sections separated and in correct positions. However an embodiment of the invention can also be provided without the stabilization plate 15. The pipe sections 5 would in that embodiment be hanging more freely from the leakage collection device 7 where they are secured. A mold plate 27 provided below the floor structure (further described below) can in that case be provided for stabilizing and keeping the pipe sections in correct positions.
The support structure 3 can be designed in many different ways. The function of the support structure 3 is to hold and support the pipe sections 5 such that they protrude through the floor structure 2, 2' to which the module is mounted.
The leakage collection device 7 can be a part of the support structure 3 and comprises in one embodiment securing means 20 for securing the pipe sections 5 protruding through the openings 9 to the leakage collection device 7. The securing means 20 can be seen in Figure 2.
The openings 9 for pipe sections 5 in the leakage collection device 7 can be made for the pipes with or without their insulation. The openings 9 should be provided with seals 21 in order to assure that no leakage from pipe connections above can leak out through the leakage collection device 7. The leakage collection device 7 comprises further an outlet 23 which can be seen in Figure 2. This outlet 23 is provided for collecting possible leakage from pipe connections above the leakage collection device 7. The outlet 23 can have different sizes, shapes and positions within the leakage collection device 7. A leakage detection pipe should be connected to this outlet 23 and the leakage detection pipe can be provided to for example a bathroom in the building where a possible leakage can be detected. The leakage collection device 7 can be provided as a tub having a bottom comprising the openings 9 and walls surrounding the bottom as shown in Figures 1-3. In these shown embodiments the leakage collection device 7 is connected to the frame 11. In another embodiment of the invention the leakage collection device 7 can be designed differently. Some kind of tub is needed for collecting the leakage and the pipe sections need to protrude through the tub. If the leakage collection device in another embodiment of the invention is not connected to the support structure, the support structure needs to comprise another part for holding and securing the pipe sections to the support structure. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1-3 the pipe sections 5 are secured and hold by the leakage collection device 7.
The shaft pipe collection module 1 can in one embodiment of the invention further comprise a mold plate 27 comprising openings 29 for receiving the pipe sections 5. The mold plate 27 is arranged to be provided beneath the floor structure 2, 2' and covering the shaft opening in the floor structure. Hereby concrete provided through the mold opening 19 of the stabilization plate 15 can stay within the floor structure 2, 2' when the shaft opening in the floor structure 2, 2' needs to be molded after the shaft pipe collection module has been mounted to the floor structure.
The shaft pipe collection module 1 according to the invention can be provided to the customer or the building site with or without the pipe sections 5 mounted. If the shaft pipe collection module 1 is provided without pipe sections any wanted number of pipe sections could be provided in the module before mounting the module in the shaft.
Figure 3 shows two shaft pipe collection modules 1 according to one embodiment of the invention provided in a respective shaft opening of a floor structure 2, 2'. The two modules 1 are shown to illustrate how the pipe sections of two modules can be connected. One module is suitably provided for each floor of a building and the pipe sections 5 provided in one module 1 should be connected to the pipe sections 5 of another module 1 if there is more than one floor in the building. The connection of pipe sections 5 is suitably provided at a convenient working height. The position of the leakage collection device 7 and the height of the frame 11 are designed for providing a suitable working height for the pipe sections connection.
The size and shape of the shaft pipe collection module and the number of pipe sections that can be provided in the module can be adapted for different types of shafts. The shape of the module is in the embodiment shown in Figures 1-3 rectangular but it could be any other shape. Often the shape of the module will be the same or close to the same as the shape of the shaft. Furthermore the pipe sections can be insulated already when provided into the module. This will make the installation of pipes into shafts more efficient and it will save time. Furthermore a safety risk of having an open shaft at a building site is eliminated as soon as this shaft pipe collection module is provided into the shaft. Furthermore, since a leakage collection device is included into the shaft pipe collection module no further measures need to be taken for that aspect. A connection for a leakage detection pipe is already provided in the leakage collection device.
Furthermore according to the invention a method for providing pipes into a shaft of a building is provided. A flow chart of the method is shown in Figure 4 and the method comprises the steps of: S1: Collecting pipe sections 5 to be provided in the shaft in a shaft pipe collection module 1 as described above.
S3: Providing the pipe sections 5 through openings in a leakage collection device 7 of the shaft pipe collection module 1.
S5: Mounting the shaft pipe collection module 1 in a shaft of a building.
S7: Connecting the shaft pipe collection module 1 by floor structure connection means 13 to a floor structure 2, 2' where the shaft is provided.
S9: Connecting other pipes to the pipe sections 5 provided in the shaft pipe collection module 1.
In one embodiment of the invention step S3 further comprises the step of securing the pipe sections 5 in the leakage collection device 7 and providing seals 21 to the openings 9 receiving the pipe sections 5 in the leakage collection device 7. Possible leakage collected in the leakage collecting device 7 from pipe connections above the leakage collection device 7 will then be transferred through an opening 23 in the leakage collecting device 7 to a leakage detection pipe that is connected to the opening.
According to one embodiment of the invention the method further comprises the step of providing a mold plate 27 to the shaft pipe collection module 1 when mounted to the floor structure 2, 2'. Said mold plate comprises openings 29 for receiving the pipe sections 5 and said mold plate 27 being provided to the underside of the floor structure and said method further comprising the step of molding the shaft opening in the floor structure.
According to one embodiment of the invention the method further comprises connecting pipe sections 5 in one shaft pipe collection module 1 according to the invention to pipe sections 5 of another shaft pipe collection module 1 according to the invention, said connection being provided above the leakage collection device and at a suitable working height.
According to one embodiment of the invention one shaft pipe collection module 1 is provided for each floor of a building.
