15 20 25 30 35 512 639 2 9402337-1. Gemensamt för dessa är att de är behäftade med nackdelar exempelvis genom att ha en så komplicerad konstruktion att de är svåra och dyra att tillverka. Andra nackdelar förknippade med tidigare kända läckagebarriärer, är att de ofta bildar hårda, skavande kanter och därför orsakar obehag för en användare av ett alster försett med en sådan läckagebarriär. Vidare uppnås med ett flertal av de tidigare kända läckagebarriärerna inte ett tillräckligt gott läckageskydd.
Det kvarstår således ett stort behov av ett absorberande alster med förbättrat sidokantläckageskydd.
BESKRIVNING AV UPPFINNINGEN: Vid ett sätt att tillverka ett absorberande alster av det i inledningen omtalade slaget, är det emellertid i enlighet med uppfinningen möjligt att åstadkonuna ett materiallaminat som erbjuder en avsevärt förhöjd läckagesäkerhet då det används på ett absorberande alster.
Sättet enligt uppfinningen, varvid en första materialbana och en andra materialbana binds samman i ett intermittent bindningsmönster utmärks därvid främst av att den första materialbanan bringas att passera över en bindningsvals försedd med bindningsytor i form av ett antal ringformigt från valsens yta utskjutande flänsar, eller rader av utskott med mellanliggande utrymmen i form av ringformiga rillor eller nedsänkta spår varvid den första materialbanan bringas att formas efter bindningsvalsens yta medelst styrfingrar vilka pressar in den första materialbanan i de mellanliggande utrymmena mellan bindningsytorna, samt att den andra materialbanan förs samman med den första materialbanan, varefter de bådarnaterialbanorna sammanbinds vid bindningsytorna.

Ytterligare utföringsformer och modifikationer framgår av de efterföljande patentkraven.
KORT BESKRIVNING AV RITNINGARNA: Uppfinningen skall i det följande beskrivas närmare under hänvisning till på de bifogade ritningarna visade utföringsexempel.

Vid tillverkningen bildas ett laminat 60 av en första materialbana 61 och en andra materialbana 62 genom att de båda materialbanorna 61,62 matas in mellan en svetsvals 67 och ett ultraljudshorn 68 och binds samman. Såsom visas i figur 1 har svetsvalsen 67 ett flertal cirkulära flänsar 69, vilka tjänar som mothåll till ultraljudshornet 68 vid bindningsprocessen. I utrymmena 70 mellan flänsarna 69 är styrfingrar 71 anordnade. Den första materialbanan matas mot svetsvalsen 67, mellan denna och styrfingrarna 71, så att styrfingrarna 71 trycker ned materialbanan 61 i utrymmena 70 mellan flänsarna 69. Därigenom veckas materialbanan 61 i längdriktningen såsom visas i genomskärning i figur 2. Efter veckningen av den första materialbanan 61 förs denna samman med den andra materialbanan 62 och de båda materialbanorna 61,62 binds samman genom ultraljudsbindning mellan flänsarna 69 och ultraljudshornet 68.
I figur 3 visas hela tillverkningsprocessen schematiskt, medan figur 4 visar en förstoring av sammanbindningssteget i tillverkningsprocessen. De cirkulära flänsarna 69 är i figur 4 visade som en mångfald piggar 72, eller utskott, vilket innebär att sammanbindningen av de båda materialbanorna 61,62 sker intermittent. Genom att mata den första materialbanan 61 med en hastighet som är något högre än hastigheten hos den andra materialbanan 62, närmare bestämt med en hastighet som är 101%-200% av den andra materialbanans 62 hastighet, erhålls en veckning av den första materialbanan 61 även i tvärriktningen, såsom framgår i figur 4. 10 15 20 25 30 35 512 639 5 I figur 5 och 6 visas stycken av materiallaminat 80,90 framställda enligt det i det föregående beskrivna sättet.
Den i figur 5 visade materialbanan 80 består av ett första materialskikt 81, samt ett andra materialskikt 82. De båda materialskikten 81,82 är inbördes förbundna genom svetsar anordnade i nmterialbanans löpriktning. Svetsarna utgör punktformiga bindningar 84 anordnade i dubbla rader 85 alternerande med mellanliggande längsgående obundna partier 86 vilka bildar upphöjda materialveck på laminatets 80 yta. Även det i figur 6 visade materiallaminatet 90, uppvisar en rynkad yta och kan användas för åstadkommande av en vätskeflödesbarriär på ett absorberande alster. Laminatet är framställt utan användning av de i samband med tillverkningsprocessen beskrivna styrfingrarna. Graden av rynkighet avgörs därvid av den relativa hastigheten med vilken den första materialbanan 91 matas fram i förhållande till den andra materialbanan 92, samt av bindningstätheten och bindningsmönstret.
Ett annat sätt att tillverka ett materiallaminat exempelvis av det slag som visas i figur 6, är genom att sträcka ut det andra materialskiktet 82 i materialbanans löpriktning.
Det är därvid väsentligt att det andra materialskiktet 82 uppvisar viss elasticitet, så att det har förmåga att helt eller delvis återgår till sin ursprungliga längd, då utsträckningen upphör. De båda materialskikten 81,82 sammanbinds medan det andra materialskiktet 82 hålls utsträckt, varefter utsträckningen upphör och det andra materialskiktet 82 tillåts dra samman sig. Materialskikten 81,82 binds samman utefter ett antal åtskilda bindningslinjer, krympbehandlas, så att det andra materialskiktet 82 drar samman sig under det att det första materialskiktet 81 varefter materialbanan veckas.
Det är naturligtvis möjligt att binda samman de båda materialskikten på annat vis än genom användning av ultraljud. Således är det exempelvis möjligt att svetsa med värme, eller att limma samman skikten.
Uppfinningen skall inte anses vara begränsad av de här beskrivna utföringsexemplen. Således omfattar uppfinningen alla typer av alster avsedda för absorption av kroppsvätskor och där ett förbättrat kantläckageskydd önskas.
Vidare är det möjligt att inom ramen för patentkraven tänka sig varianter och kombinationer av de beskrivna utföringsexemplen.
I de beskrivna utföringsexemplen, har alstrens vätskegenomsläppliga yta, respektive deras vätskeogenomträngliga yta beskrivits som särskilda materialskikt. Ett sådant arrangemang är emellertid inte nödvändigt. Det är således tänkbart att ett, eller båda höljesskikten integrerad del av alstrets absorptionskropp. Exempelvis kan en absorptionskropp av skummaterial vara bildad med en skinnliknande, vätsketät yta, som kan tjäna som vätskeogenomträngligt höljesskikt. utgör en På motsvarande vis kan en absorptionskropp av skummaterial, 512 639 7 eller absorberande nonwovenmaterial ha en vätskegenomsläpplig yta med lämpliga egenskaper för att kunna ersätta ett särskilt vätskegenomsläppligt höljesskikt.
