Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of production of pipes from composite material based on carbon, silicon and silicon carbide, which can be used as heaters operating in oxidizing gas streams at high temperatures.
164-171) [1].There is a method of producing heaters, including in the form of tubes, based on silicon carbide by mouthpiece pressing or vibration ramming of pre-prepared mixtures of carbon powders and silicon carbide with various additives and bundles, followed by firing in siliconizing fillings (Rutman D.S., Osintsova O. G. - In the book: High-temperature materials, M., "Metallurgy", 1966, S. 164-171) [1].
The disadvantage of the method [1] is the high cost of products due to the need to use press equipment and expensive equipment, which is especially disadvantageous in small-scale production and the need to often change the sizes of heaters. In addition, the porosity of the material reaches 20-30%, which leads to rapid oxidation at high temperatures and an increase in electrical resistance.
Another disadvantage of the method [1] is the low heat resistance of the resulting heaters, which forces an additional expenditure of electricity during the slow cooling of the furnace and limits the operating life of the heater.
A known method of producing a composite material based on carbon fiber and silicon carbide (according to the patent of Russian Federation No. 2058964, publ. 04.27.1996, IPC 6 С04В 35/52, С04В 35/83, С04В 35/56) [2], including the manufacture and silicification carbon-carbon billet made of two carbon layers, one of which contains carbon with reduced reactivity to liquid silicon, and the other, surface, with extremely high.
The purpose of the method [2] is the creation of products operating in high-speed oxidative streams at temperatures up to 1700 ° C. This problem is solved by using materials with different reactivity with respect to the molten silicon in the workpiece: as a result, the outer layers, which after siliconizing are almost 100% silicon carbide, protect the main inner layer from oxidation.
The disadvantage of this method [2] is the possibility of oxidation of the inner layer of the material from the surface of its end sections. Another disadvantage is that the described siliconization scheme provides for exposure of the workpiece in vacuum at 2000 ° C for 1 hour, which is technically possible only for small laboratory samples. The silicon feed to the workpiece is not detailed. Obtaining long products with a given electrical resistance by this method is almost impossible.
35/56) [3].A known method of producing products from carbon-carbide-silicon composite material for creating products and structural elements exposed to aggressive environments (according to the patent of the Russian Federation No. 2084425, publ. 07.20.1997, IPC 6 С04В 35/52, С04В 35/83, С04В 35/56 ) [3].
The method includes the manufacture of a carbon fiber preform based on carbon fiber and a thermosetting binder, its preliminary heat treatment to form a coke matrix reinforced with carbon fibers, subsequent densification of the coke matrix with pyrocarbon, crystallization of precipitated pyrocarbon and the formation of pore channels by additional heat treatment of the preform and silicification by irrigation.
The known method [3] is unreasonably complicated and includes a number of rather expensive energy and material-intensive operations. Siliconization by irrigation is used in the technique for group processing of small-sized products. It is practically impossible to provide silicification of long-sized large-sized products by irrigation.
Another disadvantage of this method is that it does not allow to obtain products with guaranteed electrical resistivity in order to create heaters that are compatible with serial furnace transformers.
Closest to the claimed invention and adopted as a prototype is a method for producing hollow resistance heaters from carbon-silicon-silicon composite material (according to RF patent No. 2286317, publ. 10/27/2006, IPC С04В 35/577, С04В 35/80) [4], including the manufacture of a carbon fiber-based preform by winding several layers of carbon fabric onto a template-coated organic binder pipe, fixing the wound fabric with carbon thread, separating the preform from the template pipe and siliconizing it, litsirovaniya initial preform inside is filled with crushed silicon and impregnated with molten silicon workpiece by moving it in a horizontal plane relative to the graphite heater. To prevent precipitation of the silicon charge from the cavity of the preform, graphite plugs are attached to its end sections, then after removing the siliconized preform, the graphite plugs are mechanically removed and the outer surfaces of the end sections are grinded.
The disadvantage of this method [4] is the difficulty in determining the dosage necessary for high-quality siliconization of the workpiece mass load of the charge of silicon. If there is a deficiency on the surface of the siliconized preform, there remain unimpregnated areas and the siliconization process is repeated, which requires removing one of the graphite plugs to fill up the additional charge. With a small excess mass of the charge on the outer surface of the siliconized workpiece, silicon flows arise, which must be ground using a diamond tool. Another disadvantage is the need to use dense graphite plugs.
The technical result to which the invention is directed is expressed in the possibility of obtaining long hollow resistance heaters by siliconizing tubular carbon fiber preforms by feeding molten silicon to their outer surface, which eliminates the possibility of the formation of both unimpregnated sections and silicon sag and increases the technical and economic performance of the process.
To achieve the named technical result in the proposed method, which includes manufacturing a carbon fiber-based preform by winding several layers of carbon fabric onto a template-coated organic binder pipe, fixing the wound fabric with carbon thread, separating the preform from the template pipe and siliconizing it by feeding molten silicon to the outer surface of the workpiece when it is moved relative to the silicon melt supply capillary feeder.
In this case, it is not necessary to dose the mass of silicon necessary for siliconizing, since it is naturally determined by the capillary forces acting during the interaction of the melt with porous carbon-graphite materials.
Common with the prototype features of the proposed method are the manufacture of a carbon fiber-based preform by winding several layers of carbon fabric with increased reactivity to liquid silicon on a template pipe, then several layers of carbon fabric with reduced reactivity to liquid silicon, fixing the fabrics with carbon filament, heating in air, separating the workpiece from the template tube and impregnating the workpiece with molten silicon by moving in a horizontal plane relative to the U-shaped graphite heater.
A distinctive feature is the impregnation of the preform with molten silicon through its outer surface when the melt is fed through a capillary feeder connected to the crucible containing it.
To supply the silicon melt to the outer surface of the workpiece, a tight graphite capillary feeder is used, the shank of which is immersed in the melt in a graphite crucible, and the nose is brought into contact with the workpiece. Three independent heaters are used: a crucible heater, a heater for the forward part of the feeder and a U-shaped heater of the narrow zone of the workpiece, in which the process of impregnation proceeds. In order to reduce the cost of crucible consumption, two options for their execution are provided. According to the first embodiment, a large-capacity crucible is equipped with a bottom summer hole through which the crucible residue is drained at the end of the process, which ensures the repeated use of such a crucible. In the second embodiment, a small-capacity crucible is used, to which a silicon charge is periodically added. Such a crucible is disposable, but its cost is relatively small.
ПримерExample
Received a heater for installing thermal fission of graphite. Two layers of TMP-3 carbon fabric and two layers of TMP-5 carbon fabric modified with pyrocarbon to a level of 25% of the mass were wound on a thin-walled stainless steel pipe with a diameter of 40 mm and a length of 900 mm, coated with a paraffin layer. To prevent unwinding of the layers, they were wrapped with carbon thread. The billet was placed in a furnace and heated to 110 ° C in air, after which the heated billet was separated from the template pipe. A further process diagram is illustrated in FIG. 1. The
Measurements by the two-probe method on alternating current showed that at room temperature the electrical resistance of the resulting heater is 0.25 Ohms.
