Currently, there are a number of methods for producing block foam glass. So, according to US patent 3151966, CL. 65-22 dated 10/06/64 [1] block foam glass in the form of plates is obtained by blowing air or other gas through a molten glass melt, the melt being cooled so that air or gas bubbles are preserved in the final product.
The disadvantage of this method is the heterogeneity of pores in size and the uneven distribution of them in the volume of foam glass.
The closest technical solution is a method for producing block foam glass, comprising heating a pre-prepared and laid in the form of a foaming mixture at a rate of 3.3 ° C / min, foaming for 1 hour, rapid cooling at a speed of 1.65 ° C / min for 2 hours and annealing for 14 hours 44 minutes with cooling rates of 0.4 ° C / min (up to 400 ° C) and 0.7 ° C / min (up to 50 °) [Minko NI, Puchka O. V., Immortal BC and other foam glass. Scientific fundamentals and technology. - Voronezh: Scientific book - p.83 section 4.3.1, second paragraph].
The disadvantages of this method is the duration of the process, high energy intensity and low heat resistance of the final product.
The aim of the proposed method is to improve the quality of the final product, reduce energy consumption and reduce the time of foaming of the mixture.
The goal is achieved in that the proposed method uses a foaming mixture based on glass breakage, the foaming mixture is heated at a rate of 3.7 ° C / min with exposure at a maximum temperature of 820 ° C for 40 minutes, followed by rapid cooling to 600 ° C at a rate of 2.0 ° C / min and annealing for 12 hours.
A distinctive feature of the proposed method is the reduction in the time of foaming of the foaming mixture at elevated heating rates, followed by rapid cooling, which contributes to microhardening of the final product and ultimately provides improved product quality, in particular heat resistance of block foam glass.

The water absorption of heat-resistant foam glass blocks was determined according to GOST 2409-80 by the method of saturation with water, followed by hydrostatic weighing. Water absorption was determined by the formula:
B=(m1·m)·100/m,B = (m 1 · m) · 100 / m,
где m - масса сухого образца при взвешивании, г,where m is the mass of the dry sample during weighing, g,
m1 - масса образца, насыщенного водой.m 1 is the mass of the sample saturated with water.
The amount of water absorption was determined as the average of three measurements:
The density of heat-resistant glass blocks was determined on cubes of 30 × 30 × 30 mm in size using a statistical method using a caliper (measurement accuracy 0.01 mm) and electronic scales from Adveturer with a measurement accuracy of 0.01 g.
The density of the heat-resistant block foam glass with a confidence interval was:
Thermal conductivity was measured using an electronic meter ITP-MT-4 according to GOST 7076-99. To determine the thermal conductivity, samples were prepared in the form of plates with a size of 100 × 100 × 20 mm. The measurements showed that the thermal conductivity of the block heat-resistant foam glass was 0.0057 W / micron.

The arithmetic average of five determinations of compressive strength of the samples was taken as the test result:
270°C.The heat resistance of the blocks was determined by a size of 50 × 50 × 50 mm by transverse heating in a furnace with a heating interval of 10 ° C and subsequent cooling in air to 20 ° C until cracks and chips appeared. Samples of blocks of optimal composition withstood heating without visible signs of failure to 270 ° C.
Heat resistance was determined as the temperature difference in the furnace and normal conditions:
ΔТ=270-20=250°CΔТ = 270-20 = 250 ° C
Thus, the proposed method allows to obtain high-quality heat-resistant block foam glass.
