Description
The invention relates to a technology for coating metal surfaces, in particular, to technology for electric blasting of molybdenum-copper composite coatings using copper foil as an explosive material, first together with a sample of molybdenum powder, and then without it, and can be used in electrical engineering to form contact surfaces with high electrical discharge resistance.
A known method [1] for the production of molybdenum-copper composite material (CM) related to powder metallurgy. The method consists in preparing the mixture by grinding and mixing industrial powders, pressing, sintering. Sintering is carried out in stages in a hydrogen medium, the initial heating is carried out to a temperature of reductive exposure of at least 800 ° C, maintained at this temperature for at least 1 h and continued heating to the final sintering temperature at a speed of not more than 10 ° C per minute and maintained at this temperature for a flow of at least 0.5 h, and the preparation of the charge is carried out in a high-energy ball planetary mill, providing centripetal acceleration of grinding media at least 40 g, for at least 10 minutes, pressing produce an effort of not more than 150 MPa.
Molybdenum-copper CMs have high electrical discharge resistance [2] and are used to obtain contacts of medium- and heavy-loaded switches of switching devices [3]. The disadvantage of contact materials obtained by powder metallurgy methods is that only the surface and not the entire volume of the contact material should have high electrical discharge resistance. In addition, the process of obtaining CM in this way is time-consuming.
Closest to the claimed is a method [4] of vacuum condensation deposition (VKN) of KM based on copper and molybdenum for electrical contacts by high-speed electron beam evaporation of metals in vacuum and subsequent condensation of the vapor stream on a preheated substrate. Method [4] includes the evaporation of a substrate of copper and molybdenum by electron beam heaters. The evaporation unit consists of two crucibles with diameters of 100 and 70 mm, designed for the evaporation of copper and tungsten, respectively. The method allows to obtain massive condensed CMs and to form composite layered according to [5] coatings of molybdenum-copper on the working surface of the contacts.
The disadvantage of coatings formed by the VKN method is their heterogeneity and low adhesion to the base, and therefore, when the contacts are closed and opened, they peel off. In addition, when implementing the coating method adopted as a prototype, the compositions of the condensate and the evaporated alloy can vary significantly.
The task of the invention is to obtain composite molybdenum-copper coatings with a layered structure having high electrical discharge resistance and adhesive-cohesive bond with the base.
The task is realized by the method of applying to the contact surface of electrical discharge erosion-resistant molybdenum-copper composite coatings with a layered structure. The method consists in using a concentrated energy flow to evaporate the starting materials of molybdenum and copper and condensing them on the contact surface. As starting materials, first, a copper foil weighing 4 ... 5 mg with a sample of molybdenum powder weighing 0.8 ... 0.9 g is used alternately, then one copper foil weighing 175 ... 185 mg, evaporation is carried out by passing an electric current through the foil, causing it explosion, condensation of explosion products on the contact surface is carried out at a value of absorbed power density on the hardened surface of 4.5 ... 5.0 and 3.7 ... 4.2 GW / m 2 , respectively.
The single layers of the formed coating are alternately applied layers of molybdenum and copper. The coating structure obtained by the claimed method is closest to the structure of the coatings obtained by the VKN method. The advantage of the proposed method compared with the prototype is that the formed composite layered molybdenum-copper coating has an adhesive-cohesive bond between the coating and the base and between the unit coating layers of molybdenum and copper. The method allows you to effectively apply coatings on contact surfaces of up to 40 cm 2 . The formation time of one coating layer is 100 μs. The required number of layers is obtained by sequential application of molybdenum and copper in these modes.
The method is illustrated by drawings, where figure 1 shows the layered structure of the composite coating of the molybdenum-copper system, figure 2 is the boundary of a single layer of molybdenum coating with a copper base.
Композиционное слоистое молибден-медное покрытие формируется при последовательном нанесении слоев молибдена и меди в указанных режимах (фиг.1).Light microscopy studies have shown that a single molybdenum layer is uniform in depth. When using a sample of powder weighing 0.8 ... 0.9 g in the spraying mode, in which the absorbed power density is 4.5 ... 5.0 GW / m 2 [6], its thickness is 15 ... 20 μm. At the boundary of a single layer of molybdenum coating with a copper base, a zone of mutual mixing of molybdenum and copper with a thickness of several micrometers is formed, which ensures high adhesion of the coating to the base. Reducing powder losses during electroexplosive spraying is achieved by fusing individual particles of powder in the coating with each other. The specified mode is optimal, since when the exposure intensity is lower than 4.5 GW / m 2 incomplete fusion of particles of molybdenum powder in the formed coating occurs, as a result of which molybdenum can be lost, the coating is non-uniform in thickness, and above 5.0 GW / m 2 - formation occurs developed surface relief of the sprayed coating. When the weight of the sample of molybdenum powder is more than 0.9 g, incomplete fusion of particles of molybdenum powder in the formed coating occurs, as a result of which molybdenum may be lost. Processing the contact surface with a molybdenum coating by a plasma jet formed from the products of an electric explosion of a single copper foil with an absorbed power density of 3.7 ... 4.2 GW / m 2 leads to the formation of a copper layer uniform in depth. Its thickness varies in proportion to the mass of the foil within 20 ... 25 microns. The specified mode, in which the absorbed power density is 3.7 ... 4.2 GW / m 2 , has been established experimentally and is optimal, since at an intensity of exposure below 3.7 GW / m 2 there is no formation of a mutual mixing zone between the layers of copper and molybdenum, as a result of which it is possible to delaminate from each other, and above 4.2 GW / m 2 - the destruction of the layered structure occurs. Composite layered molybdenum-copper coating is formed by successively applying layers of molybdenum and copper in these modes (figure 1).

The sprayed composite layered coating has a high erosion resistance and adhesive-cohesive bond, both of the coating with the base and between the individual layers of molybdenum and copper, because due to the force of the plasma jet of explosion products on the irradiated surface, a mutual mixing zone is formed.
