Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technology for coating metal surfaces, in particular to a technology for pulsed electric explosive deposition of pseudo-alloy molybdenum-copper coatings using thin foils of copper and molybdenum as an explosive material, and can be used in electrical engineering to form contact surfaces with high erosion resistance.
A known method [1] for the production of molybdenum-copper composite material (CM) related to powder metallurgy. The method consists in preparing the mixture by grinding and mixing industrial powders, pressing, sintering. Sintering is carried out in stages in a hydrogen medium, the initial heating is carried out to a temperature of reductive exposure of at least 800 ° C, maintained at this temperature for at least 1 hour and continued heating to the final sintering temperature at a speed of not more than 10 ° C per minute and maintained at this temperature for a flow of at least 0.5 h, and the preparation of the charge is carried out in a high-energy ball planetary mill, providing centripetal acceleration of the grinding media for at least 40 g, for at least 10 minutes, pressing produce an effort of not more than 150 MPa.
Molybdenum-copper CMs have high erosion resistance [2] and are used to obtain contacts of medium and heavy-loaded switches of switching devices [3]. The disadvantage of using materials for contacts obtained by powder metallurgy methods is their low economic efficiency, due to the fact that only the surface and not the entire volume of contact material should have high erosion resistance. The process of obtaining KM in this way is long in time, and obtaining KM coatings is impossible.
Closest to the claimed is a method [4] of vacuum condensation deposition (VKN) of KM based on copper and molybdenum for electrical contacts by high-speed electron beam evaporation of metals in vacuum and subsequent condensation of the vapor stream on a preheated substrate. Method [4] includes the evaporation of a substrate of copper and molybdenum by electron beam heaters. The evaporation unit consists of two crucibles with diameters of 100 and 70 mm, designed for the evaporation of copper and molybdenum, respectively. The method allows to obtain massive condensed CM and to form pseudo-alloy coatings of molybdenum-copper on the working surface of the contacts.
The disadvantage of KM coatings formed by VKN is their low adhesion to the base, since atomic deposition of molybdenum and copper does not cause a premelting state of the contact surface, and therefore, peeling of the coatings is possible during the closure and opening of medium and heavy-loaded contacts.
The objective of the invention is to obtain a composite multilayer laminate [5] molybdenum-copper coating on the contact surfaces, with high adhesion at the level of cohesion of both the coating with the base and between the layers of copper and molybdenum, while maintaining high erosion resistance CM molybdenum-copper.
The problem is realized by the method of applying a composite laminate molybdenum-copper coating on a copper contact surface. The method consists in using concentrated energy flows to evaporate the starting materials of molybdenum and copper and condensing them on the contact surface. Thin foils of molybdenum and copper are used as starting materials, while alternating words of molybdenum and copper are applied by sequentially passing an electric current through the foils, causing an electric explosion of first molybdenum and then copper foil, the condensation of the explosion products on the contact surface is carried out at the absorbed density power 4.1 ... 4.5 and 3.7 ... 3.9 GW / m 2, respectively, and the thickness of the layers is changed by changing the mass of the exploded foil.
The structure of the coating obtained by the claimed method is closest to the pseudo-alloys obtained by the VKN method. By the thickness of the layers of copper and molybdenum. The advantage of the proposed method compared to the prototype is that the formed composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating has high adhesion at the level of cohesion of both the coating with the base and between the layers of molybdenum and copper. The method allows cost-effective coating on small contact surfaces. The formation time of one coating layer is 100 μs. The required number of layers are alternated by sequential application of molybdenum and copper. The method allows you to apply an arbitrary number of layers of molybdenum and copper, forming a coating.
2.The method is illustrated in the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows a diagram of a pulsed plasma accelerator for applying a composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating on contact surfaces, Fig. 2 - composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating obtained in example 1, Fig. 3 - composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating obtained in example 2.
The plasma accelerator consists of a coaxial-end system of current-supplying electrodes - an
Explosion products using a plasma accelerator are directed to the contact surface. The formation of a composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating with adhesion at the cohesion level of both the coating with the base and between the layers of copper and molybdenum occurs during the sequential deposition of molybdenum and copper by a multiphase plasma jet with subsequent heat removal to the contact surface material.
Light microscopy studies showed that after applying the first layer with a plasma jet formed from the products of an electric explosion of molybdenum foil in a mode in which the absorbed power density is 4.1 ... 4.5 GW / m 2 , a molybdenum layer uniform in depth is applied, whose thickness can be changed in proportion to the mass of the foil. At the boundary of the molybdenum layer with the copper base, a relief is formed due to the force of the plasma jet, which increases adhesion. The indicated mode is optimal, since at an intensity of exposure below 4.1 GW / m 2 there is no formation of a relief between the molybdenum layer and the base, as a result of which peeling of the coating is possible, and above 4.5 GW / m 2 mixing of neighboring layers due to melt flow under the influence of inhomogeneous pressure of the jet of explosion products and the deterioration of the quality of the irradiated surface.
After applying the second layer with a plasma jet formed from the products of the electric explosion of copper foil, with an absorbed power density of 3.7 ... 3.9 GW / m 2 , a copper layer uniform in depth is applied, the thickness of which can be changed in proportion to the mass of the foil. The indicated mode, in which the absorbed power density is 3.7 ... 3.9 GW / m 2 , is established empirically and is optimal, since at an intensity of exposure below 3.7 GW / m 2 there is no relief formation between the layers of copper and molybdenum, due to of which their peeling is possible, and above - 3.9 GW / m 2 , the interface is distorted between adjacent layers. Composite multilayer laminate molybdenum-copper coating is formed by successively applying layers of copper and molybdenum in these modes (figure 2, figure 3). The required number of layers can be alternated by sequential application of molybdenum and copper in these modes.
These methods of forming a composite coating are not identified in other technical solutions when studying the level of this technical field, and, therefore, the solution is new and has an inventive step.

1.Example 1
A concentrated energy flow was used to vaporize the molybdenum and copper starting materials and condensate them on the contact surface. Thin molybdenum and copper foils were used as starting materials; evaporation was carried out by sequentially passing an electric current through them, causing an electric explosion, first of molybdenum and then of copper foil. The effective current value was 0.88 · 10 6 and 2.54 · 10 6 A for molybdenum and copper foil, respectively. The condensation of explosion products on a copper contact surface was carried out at absorbed power densities of 4.1 and 3.7 GW / m 2, respectively.
