Description
The claimed invention relates to aiming and guidance systems.
The method of aiming (guidance), carried out in accordance with the proposed invention, can be the basis for the use of sights for various purposes (hunting, sports, for artillery and small arms and missile weapons used in the daytime and at night), as well as the basis for the use of geodetic, metrological and observational instruments, optical communications.
State of the art
Known sighting device (RF patent 2158405), in which the geometric shape of the elements of the observing system is performed in order to ensure the simultaneous perception with one eye of the converted image system of the object of attention and at least some part is not converted. This device is intended to implement the aiming method (RF patent 2155926), in which at least one more formed target image is clearly perceived simultaneously with the initially perceived image, and the most convenient combination of images is used for the final stage of preliminary and then for precise guidance.
This method of aiming is simple to implement, and the aiming device intended for its implementation is easy to manufacture, however, it involves the use of an image of the aiming mark, which must be formed. It is important here that the various images of the object of attention mentioned in the implementation of the said method are used only for perception and identification of the target.
- высокую точность автокорреляционного и псевдоавтокорреляционного совмещения изображений;
Other disadvantages of this method include the fact that it does not take into account:
- high accuracy of autocorrelation and pseudo-autocorrelation image alignment;
- genetically embedded features of human vision associated with the appearance of a binocular effect in the perception of images of the object of attention with various scales (within certain limits) by the left and right eyes, which is associated with the invariance of visual perception to scale transformations.
- уменьшения времени прицеливания (наведения);
- повышения точности прицеливания (наведения);
- расширение области возможного применения прицелов;
- упрощения конструкции дневных, ночных и тепловизионных прицелов, а также оружия;
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention is aimed at solving the following problems:
- reduce the time of aiming (guidance);
- improving the accuracy of aiming (guidance);
- expanding the scope of the possible use of sights;
- simplification of the design of day, night and thermal imaging sights, as well as weapons;
- reducing the weight, dimensions and cost of sights, as well as weapons.
The foregoing relates to geodetic, metrological and observational instruments, optical communications.
The claimed technical result according to the invention is achieved as follows.
The following distinctive feature has been introduced into the method of aiming or pointing, which means that at least two images of the object of aiming or pointing are simultaneously perceived by one eye: when preliminary aiming or pointing, at least two of the mentioned images are superimposed on each other, for which the perceived the angular position of one of them by changing the angular position of the weapon or pointing device, and with the final aiming or pointing as indicated above by orienting iruyut relative to each other image of the object of sight or guidance or a combination of the control points of the latter.
In addition, the following features may be introduced into the inventive method: when orienting, the said images are centered relative to each other or combined if the ratio of their perceived angular dimensions is close to unity; one of the above images is performed remote, i.e. formed outside the shielding region for said user’s eye of a naturally perceived image of the said object by the structural elements of the induced device and the sight or guidance device mounted thereon; the ratio of the perceived angular dimensions of the above images provide greater than 0.5 or less than 2; both eyes are used for aiming or pointing.
Information confirming the possibility of carrying out the invention
At the end of 1998, the applicant proactively developed and manufactured an aiming device corresponding to the prior art mentioned in the section, on the basis of which the aiming method mentioned in the prior art section was tested.
With the modification of such a device that does not contain a designator that forms the image of the reticle, the applicant conducted a set of tests at the end of 1999, confirming the possibility of obtaining the technical result presented in the Summary of the Invention using the distinguishing features mentioned in this section.
It should be emphasized here that the technical result of the use of the claimed invention is of a qualitative nature, difficult to evaluate.
Practical work has confirmed that the claimed invention allows more than one and a half times to reduce the time required for aiming, because it allows you to combine direct pointing with the identification of the target, for example, an enlarged image of which (or enhanced in brightness) is used as a kind of aiming mark (see also lower in terms of the binocular effect); allows you to expand the scope of the possible use of sights in terms of their use when aiming at masked or low contrast objects, small objects and in low light conditions due to the fact that the field of view, object of attention, target are not shielded by the aiming mark, it does not illuminate the eye, it is not supposed to highlighting, due to which the probability of assimilation of the target is reduced, the visual load on the user is minimized (see also below for the binocular effect); allows you to simplify the design of day, night and thermal imaging sights and observation devices, sighting systems, as well as weapons, since it is possible to exclude the target designator block from the above devices, in particular, it is possible to not have a real image plane in the optical design of the sight; while maintaining functionality for the reason mentioned above, it is possible to reduce weight (hereinafter in relation to the sighting device mentioned in the prior art section, the weight has been reduced by more than 10%), dimensions (by 40%) and cost (more than doubled) sights, observation devices, sighting systems, as well as weapons.
Of particular importance is the fact that the claimed invention can significantly improve the accuracy of aiming. There are a number of reasons for this, the main of which are the following.
Provided by the claimed invention, the ability to determine the accuracy of guidance by deviating the relative position of various images of the targeting object from centered or superimposed (with their full coincidence in optical characteristics) includes correlation mechanisms of selective attention, highly sensitive to spatial mismatch (we are talking about autocorrelation and pseudo-autocorrelation alignment of images).
It is known that the binocular effect is very unstable if the correct convergence is violated (for example, the parallel tolerance of the optical axes of telescopic systems of binoculars having a four-fold increase is 12 "). The claimed invention allows the use of this circumstance, since the appearance of the binocular effect during its implementation serves fact confirming accurate guidance.
The simultaneous perception, for example, with the left eye of a natural (not transformed) image of the targeting object and with the other eye, for example, an optically enlarged image of the said object when a binocular effect occurs (the right eye also perceives the natural image, albeit partially), allows both another, associated with averaging atmospheric fluctuations, a large field of view, etc., which also positively affects the accuracy of aiming.
Working with the remote image gives all those advantages, which are described in detail in the primary sources specified in the Prior art section. This is the ability to smoothly contactlessly change the ratio of visually perceived brightnesses of the mentioned images, and the ability, without carrying out manipulations with the controls of the sight, to switch from one image to another depending on external conditions, and so on.
The inventive method is implemented as follows (to illustrate, we took a sight consisting of a case and a half-time Galilean telescopic system made in the form of a telescopic lens cut off along the optical axis - see "Technique and Armament", 10, 2000, A. Gavrilov, Yu Khmelshchikov, "For those who pull together stores with tape", pp. 14-15, 7 ill.). The shooter perceives a natural image of the phono-target environment, provides preliminary guidance, as a result of which he has the opportunity to simultaneously perceive the natural and enlarged images of the targeting object with his right eye, and only natural with the left eye.
Carrying out preliminary aiming, the shooter superimposes such images on one another, for which he changes the perceived angular position of one of them by changing the angular position of the weapon, and during the final aiming in the above way he orientates the images of the aiming object relative to each other or combines the control points of the latter.
2. At the moment of precise alignment, the binocular effect of the perception of the aiming object is manifested, additionally indicating the completion of the guidance process. It is significant that such an effect when one eye perceives a natural image of the phono-target environment and the aiming object, and the other a natural perception of part of the phono-target environment and part of the aiming object with the simultaneous perception of an enlarged image of the aiming object, is possible only if the zoom scale is greater than 0.5 or less than 2.
For the correct implementation of the proposed method in this embodiment of the sight, it is necessary to give (by changing the position of the eye relative to the exit pupil of the said telescopic system) a greater energy weight to the enlarged image (the one formed by the optical system rigidly mounted on the weapon), although this is not necessary.
Machine simulation has confirmed the possibility of obtaining the claimed technical result in the case of using a brightness-enhanced or spectrum-converted image of the targeting object.
