Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technology for producing ammonium nitrate and may find application in the production of ammonium nitrate with stabilizing additives.
The specific physicochemical properties of ammonium nitrate, such as polymorphic transformations occurring during crystallization of its melts or during heating and cooling of crystals of this salt, make it difficult to obtain a granular product that retains its initial strength and particle size distribution for a long time.
To reduce the negative impact of the polymorphic transformations on the quality of granular ammonium nitrate, various stabilizing additives are used.
[А.с. СССР N 426451. 1974 г., N 18].A known method of producing granular ammonium nitrate, in which a phosphate-sulfate additive is used as a stabilizing additive, is a mixture of phosphoric and sulfuric acids or a mixture of their salts introduced into nitric acid or into an ammonium nitrate solution in an amount of 0.3-0.5% P 2 O 5 and 0.05-0.2% (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 in terms of the finished product, with simultaneous neutralization with gaseous ammonia to a pH of 5.5-6.8. [A.S. USSR N 426451. Discovery. Inventions 1974, N 18].
The disadvantage of this method is the need to use scarce thermal phosphoric acid.
161]. The closest to the proposed method in terms of technical nature and the achieved result is a method for producing stabilized ammonium nitrate, in which an additive obtained by nitric acid decomposition of phosphorus-containing raw materials, separation of insoluble impurities and neutralization of the extract with gaseous ammonia is metered into the solution of ammonium nitrate before evaporation and granulation. [Miniovich M.A. Ammonium nitrate production. M .: Chemistry, 1974, p. 161].
The disadvantages of the method are the relatively low resistance of the granules to the effects of a variable temperature in the range of 20-50 o C and the increase in acidity of the melt due to thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate during evaporation.
The aim of the proposed method is to increase the resistance of ammonium nitrate granules to variable temperatures and to slow the decomposition of ammonium nitrate melt and increase its acidity with prolonged heating.
This goal is achieved in that according to the method for producing stabilized ammonium nitrate by introducing an additive obtained by decomposing phosphorus-containing raw materials with nitric acid into the ammonium nitrate solution, followed by neutralization, evaporation and granulation of the melt, a part of calcium is preliminarily extracted from the nitric acid extract.
The difference of the proposed method is the partial release of calcium from a nitric acid extract.
2O5=0,3-0,1.In this case, calcium is isolated to a ratio in the nitrogen-acid extract of Ca / P 2 O 5 = 0.3-0.1.
The release of calcium from a nitric acid extract is carried out by polythermal crystallization of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate.
The amount of the additive introduced into the solution of ammonium nitrate is at least 1% P 2 O 5 in terms of the finished product.
These differences allow to increase the resistance of granules to the effects of variable temperature in the range of 20-50 o C, 3-5 times and to slow down the decomposition of ammonium nitrate melt and increase its acidity with prolonged heating.
Example 1. A portion of apatite is decomposed with 52% nitric acid at a temperature of 50 o C and mechanical stirring for 1 h. The flow rate of nitric acid is taken at the rate of 1.4 g of 100% nitric acid per 1 g of apatite. The resulting extract is cooled with slow stirring for 6 hours to a temperature of -5 ° C. The precipitated precipitate of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate is separated by filtration. The obtained filtrate composition,%: P 2 O 5 - 20.2; Ca - 3.6; N, 5.1; Ca / P 2 O 5 = 0.178 is used as an additive in a solution of ammonium nitrate.
1.The calculated sample weight of the additive to obtain the specified content of P 2 O 5 in the finished product is dosed into a solution of ammonium nitrate at a concentration of 89.6%, the mixture is neutralized with ammonia to a pH of 6.5, evaporated with stirring to a moisture content of 0.7%, and the pH of the melt is adjusted to 6 5 ammonia. The resulting melt is divided into two parts. One part of the melt is placed in a thermostat, kept at a temperature of 185 o C for 90 min and determine the pH of the melt. (Determine the pH of a 10% aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate). Another part of the melt is granulated in liquid hexane. A portion of the obtained granules is placed in a thermostat, in which daily cyclic temperature fluctuations are created. The temperature of 50 o C in the thermostat is maintained for 8 hours, then the thermostat is turned off and cooled to 20 o C for 16 hours. The heating-cooling cycles are repeated. After each cycle, the strength of the granules is determined. The resistance of the granules to temperature fluctuations is expressed by the number of cycles at which the strength of the granules decreases by 50%. The results are shown in table. 1.
2.Example 2. A portion of apatite is decomposed with 52% nitric acid at a temperature of 50 o C and mechanical stirring for 1 h. The flow rate of nitric acid is taken at the rate of 1.4 g of 100% nitric acid per 1 g of apatite. The resulting extract is slowly cooled over 6 hours to a temperature of + 6-10 o C. The degree of calcium excretion is regulated by the cooling temperature. The precipitate of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate is separated by filtration. The resulting filtrate is used as an additive in ammonium nitrate. The additive in a predetermined amount is dosed into a solution of ammonium nitrate with a concentration of 89.6%, the mixture is neutralized with ammonia to pH 6.7, evaporated to a moisture content of 0.7%, the resulting melt is granulated in liquid hexane. The obtained granules are placed in a thermostat and determine the resistance of the granules to temperature fluctuations according to the method of example 1. The results are shown in table. 2.
The proposed method, in comparison with the prototype method, allows to slow down the decomposition of the ammonium nitrate melt during prolonged heating and to increase the resistance of ammonium nitrate granules to temperature fluctuations by 3-5 times. In addition, the proposed method allows the production of ammonium nitrate with a high phosphorus content, which expands the range of fertilizers. The selected interval of the ratio Ca / P 2 O 5 = 0.3-0.1 is explained by the fact that when the ratio Ca / P 2 O 5 = 0.3, there is a significant increase in the resistance of the granules of ammonium nitrate to temperature fluctuations in the temperature range 20-50 o C, and a decrease in the Ca / P 2 O 5 ratio below 0.1 is impractical because it requires cooling the hood to temperatures below -10 o C, which is associated with an increase in energy consumption for cooling.
2O5.The lower limit of the content of P 2 O 5 in ammonium nitrate is 1% due to a slowdown in the thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate and a significant increase in the resistance of granules to temperature fluctuations. The upper limit of the content of P 2 O 5 in ammonium nitrate is not limited, since with an increase in the content of P 2 O 5 there is a gradual increase in the resistance of ammonium nitrate granules to temperature fluctuations, and the expediency of obtaining ammonium nitrate with a certain content of P 2 O 5 is determined.
