Abstract
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, and more specifically to electroslag remelting of metals, and can be used in the smelting of high alloy tool and structural steels.
Known methods for producing a consumable electrode for ESR, including filling a hollow body: with metal material — scrap metal (as USSR AS N 563009, MKI C 21 C 5/56); in the form of a layer of a deoxidizing and alloying alloy (a.s. USSR No. 1558283, MKI H 05 B 7/07); briquettes from pressed chips (patent of England N 1251660, CL B 22 D 23/06); metal powder (application of Germany N 2308639, CL 31
Closest to the claimed and accepted by us as a prototype is a method of producing a consumable electrode for ESR, including filling the hollow body with metal powder (application Germany No. 2308639).
71).The specified method does not allow to obtain electrodes for smelting high alloy steel with a content of alloying elements of more than 15%, since the metal powder filled in the hollow body has a bulk density of not more than 3000 kg / m 3 (see B. Antsiferov et al. “Powder alloy steel ", Moscow" Metallurgy "1991 p. 256, tab. 71).
In addition, this method of producing a consumable electrode uses expensive powdered alloying elements, with each grade of steel requiring a powder with a chemical composition corresponding to the grade of steel smelted by remelting the resulting electrode, which is practically not feasible in the smelting of a wide range of steel grades. When implementing this method, additional labor and equipment are required to fill the cavity with powder and seal it.
The objective of the invention is to increase the alloying of steel, smelted using the resulting consumable electrodes, by increasing the content of alloying elements in it, as well as reducing the cost of obtaining a consumable electrode due to the rational use of scrap and waste of high alloy steels and alloys.
To solve the problem in a method for producing a consumable ESR electrode for smelting high alloy steel, which involves filling a hollow body with alloying material, the alloying material is melted before filling and then poured into the cavity.
Alloying material can be melted in an induction furnace.
Before filling with the alloying material, at least one metal rod is installed along the axis in the hollow body.
The melting of the alloying material and the subsequent pouring of the hollow body make it possible to increase the number of introduced alloying elements by increasing the filling density of the electrode cavity, and also to use scrap and waste of high alloy steels and alloys as alloying material.
The melting of the alloying material in an induction furnace almost completely eliminates the loss of alloying elements (carbon, chromium, vanadium, tungsten, niobium, etc.) during the melting process.
The installation along the axis of the hollow body of at least one metal rod ensures the integrity of the alloying material (alloy) after cooling due to its welding with the rod, which is necessary to prevent it from cracking, chipping and falling out of the hollow body during the ESR process.
0,030; Cr - 11,0...12,5; Ni - < 0,50; Mo - 0,40...0,60; V - 0,70...0,90. Two metal rods with a diameter of 0.022 m made of 15Kh2GF steel were installed in a hollow body (pipe) with an offset of 0.02 m from the center (the production of rods with a diameter of 0.022 m at the enterprise is serial, and rods rejected for any defects are used as rods). From one end, the pipe cavity was welded with a steel plate. Alloying material was melted in an induction furnace with a capacity of 1000 kg in the amount of 650 kg, used materials and scrap from X12MF steel, as well as blacksmith waste in the amount of 520 kg of the same steel, high-carbon ferrochrome 124 kg, ferromolybdenum 1.05 were used as charge materials. kg, ferrovanadium 7.9 kg.

The resulting alloy was poured into a teapot and poured into the cavity of the pipes. Then the pipes were cooled in open calm air for 20 hours.
Steel plates previously welded to the ends were cut from the obtained electrodes and remelted on an EShP R-951M furnace into a mold with a diameter of 0.41 m according to the technology of the enterprise to produce an ingot weighing 1220 kg. A sample for the chemical composition of the ingot was taken at the end of the remelting with a slag spoon and pouring a test glass.

The ingot at a temperature of ~ 800 o C in a thermally insulated casing was sent to the forge shop, where intermediate blanks 0.2 m in diameter were forged from it.
To study the quality of the microstructure and chemical composition, two disks corresponding to the bottom and top of the ingot were cut off from the workpiece.
Data on the chemical composition of the ingot, microstructure and chemical composition for the cross section of the workpiece depending on the cross-sectional area of the electrode cavity obtained by the proposed method (
The table shows that with ECR of consumable electrodes obtained by the proposed method, having a cross-sectional area of the cavity with alloying material more than 30% of the total area (
It is also seen from the table that with the ESR of consumable electrodes obtained by the prototype method (
23%. A comparative calculation of the cost showed that the application of the proposed method for producing consumable electrodes for smelting steel X12MF from them allows to reduce the cost of steel compared to the prototype method by 23%.
