Abstract

Et flerbrukerskjema som lar et antall brukere, sett av brukere eller bærere dele én eller flere kanaler er tilveiebragt. I oppfinnelsen blir den tilgjengelige kanalbåndbredden delt inn i et antall underkanaler med lik båndbredde i henhold til standard praksis i OFDM. Senderen blir informert av en applikasjon om at den trenger å sende data med en gitt hastighet. Senderen bestemmer det minste antallet underkanaler og den maksimale energiterskelen (eller støyterskelen) for hver underkanal nødvendig for å oppnå denne datahastigheten, og velger et sett av underkanaler som oppfyller disse kravene. Underkanalene trenger ikke ligge ved siden av hverandre i spekteret eller høre til samme kanal. Når senderen har valgt det nødvendige antall underkanaler, begynner den å sende samtidig på disse underkanalene over hele båndbredden som anvendes av disse underkanalene.
