Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse fremskaffer en optisk attenuator (200) som omfatter en optisk attenuatormodul (210), en optisk splitter (220), en detektor (240) og en styringsenhet. (250). Inngangsstråling (P) mottas av attenuatormodulen (210) som kan drives til å svekke inngangsstrålingen for å generere tilsvarende svekket stråling (P). Dektoren. (240) kan drives til å motta en del av den svekkede stråling (0,1 P0) og generere et tilsvarende elektrisk signal T,. Signalet Ttilføres styringsenheten (250) via en første tilbakekoblingssløyfe (262) for å regulere attenuatormodulen (210) slik at strålingseffekt-en i den svekkede stråling opprettholdes på et forutbestemt nivå. I en situasjon hvor det opptrer et avbrudd i inngangsstrålingen (P,) kan styringsenheten (250) drives til å overvåke temperaturen i attenuatormodulen (210) ved å utnytte en termistorføler (280) og regulere temperaturen i modulen (210) til en forutbestemt temperatur under avbruddet ved å utnytte en andre tilbakekoblingssløyfe (264). Når avbruddet slutter overføres styringen av attenuatormodulen (210) tilbake til den første tilbakekoblingssløyfe (262) for å opprettholde den svekkde stråling på det forutbestemte nivå.
