Det er beskrevet en oppfinnelse som angår anvendelse av flavonoider som smaksstoffer og/eller saltsubstilutter. En blanding av flere flavonoider såsom fra lok, eple og te blir blandet for å danne en sammensetning. Flavonoidprcparatcl kan anvendes som en generell smakssubstans og som et sallsubstiuitt i hjemmekoking såvel som i matvarcindustrien. Øket flavonoidinntak reduserer risikoen for hjertesykdommer.
