Abstract

A matrix assembly for use in the moulding of objects by the injection of synthetic thermoplastics, etc. has an upper and a lower mould section into which >=1 nozzles open. Inside the mould there is a peg or key which can be moved towards the outlet of the extrusion nozzle and close it when the mould cavities are filled. At the point at which the inlet opens into the mould the form of the surface of the peg corresponds to the shape of the surface of the moulding or mouldings in that zone of the cavity. Problems of a nipple or raised surface being formed on the moulding whentle hot runner system is used are overcome.
