Abstract

Reinforced concrete is produced by (a) coating opt. prestressed threads of an org. polymer with a resin layer, (b) placing the threads in a mould and (c) filling the mould with a concrete mixt. The coating is an epoxy unsatd polyester or polyurethane resin. The reinforcing threads consists of a polyamide, polyester polypropylene PVA or rayon. The threads are coated with 5-35 wt.% synthetic resin. The threads can be more uniformly coated with the synthetic resin outside the mould and the coarted threads are resistant to the alkaline conditions in the concrete, and bond uniformly and strongly to the concrete.
