Abstract

1,249,527. Moulding V-belts. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. 12 May, 1969 [24 June, 1968], No. 24065/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] A V-belt is made by coating a mould with a layer of polyamide 3, filling the mould with a polyurethane reaction mixture 4 and curing the polyurethane to bond it to the polyamide. Fabric or wire reinforcement 5 may be placed in the mould when part of the polyurethane has been added. The polyamide coating may be applied by brushing, spraying or dipping and may be 1-10 mils thick.
