Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso contínuo, semicontínuo o por lotes para el tratamiento integral de los efluentes del proceso de nixtamalización comúnmente conocidos como nejayote, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) eliminar o remover los sólidos en suspensión mediante un método mejorado de hidrolisis enzimática y floculación; (b) filtrar el nejayote a través de un sistema de microfiltración para eliminar los sólidos en suspensión remanentes del paso (a); (c) filtrare el nejayote a través de un sistema de membranas de ultra filtración para dividir el efluente de desecho en una corriente de permeado y una corriente de concentrado, donde la corriente de permeado contiene agua, sales y sólidos solubles de peso molecular medio y bajo, mientras que la corriente de concentrado contiene agua y sólidos solubles de alto peso molecular; (d) filtrar el nejayote a través de un sistema de membranas de ultra o nano filtración para dividir el efluente de desecho en una corriente de permeado y una corriente de concentrado, donde la corriente de permeado contiene agua, sales y sólidos solubles de bajo peso molecular, mientras que la corriente de concentrado contiene agua y sólidos solubles de peso molecular medio; ( e) filtrar el nejayote a través de un sistema de membranas de nano filtración y/u ósmosis inversa para dividir el efluente de desecho en una corriente de permeado y una corriente de concentrado, donde la corriente de permeado contiene agua, mientras que la corriente de concentrado contiene agua, sales y sólidos solubles de bajo peso molecular; y (f) disponer los sólidos en suspensión floculados y las corriente de concentrados para la recuperación de productos con valor comercial o para su biotransformación en biocombustibles o proteínas unicelular y la corriente de permeado como agua de reuso o para su descarga de forma medioambientalmente segura.
