Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para la producción de metano a partir de dióxido de carbono, hidrógeno y metanógeno(s) Archaea anaerobia que incluye los pasos de: a) proporcionar un recipiente de reacción anódico (14) que contiene un electrodo positivo (ánodo) y un medio electrolítico líquido que comprende agua y el material ionizantes; b) proporcionar un recipiente de reacción catódico (12) que contiene un electrodo negativo (cátodo), un sustrato de crecimiento acuoso electrolítico, metanógeno(s), dióxido de carbono e hidrógeno, en donde el recipiente cátodo (12) y el sustrato de crecimiento acuoso se presurizan a una presión desde 5 hasta 1000 bar con un fluido presurizador que consiste en dióxido de carbono líquido o una mezcla de dióxido de carbono líquido e hidrógeno; (c) conectar el primer y segundo recipiente de reacción con medios de conexión que permitan a los electrones y/o iones para entre los medios electrolíticos de los recipientes de reacción ánodo y cátodo; d) aplicar una corriente eléctrica directa al electrodo positivo y al electrodo negativo para: efectuar la ionización del hidrógeno en el recipiente de reacción catódico (12) para producir hidrógeno y también para aumentar el pH del sustrato de crecimiento acuoso electrolítico; y efectuar el oxígeno ionizado en el primer recipiente de reacción (14), para formar oxígeno, en donde la electrólisis se pone en práctica de forma intermitente para controlar el pH en el recipiente de reacción catódico (12).
