Abstract

Esta invención se refiere a un método para galvanizar una tira de acero sin chapado con una capa de chapado de un electrolito de Cr trivalente, donde la tira sin chapado se somete a una etapa de limpieza y decapado antes del proceso de chapado y luego se somete a un proceso de chapado en una sección de chapado que comprende una serie de celdas de chapado consecutivas, en donde en una primera etapa del proceso de chapado se aplica una corriente a la tira que entra en la primera celda de chapado cuya corriente es insuficiente para depositar una capa de chapado del electrolito de Cr trivalente, pero que es suficiente para proporcionar protección catódica de la tira en el electrolito, y en donde en una segunda etapa del proceso de chapado se aplica una corriente más alta a la tira para depositar una capa de chapado que comprende metal crómico, carburo crómico y óxido crómico del Crival Trivalent electrólito.
