Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método y un dispositivo para producir perlas huecas de micro vidrio (3.4) a partir de vidrio fundido (3), en donde las perlas huecas de micro vidrio (3.4) se elaboran en un rango de diámetro desde 0.01 mm hasta 0.1 mm en un proceso de operación continua mientras se evita la formación de filamento de vidrio. Los filamentos de vidrio fundido (3.1) que salen de un dispositivo de fusión (1) se atomizan por medio de gas caliente (14) para formar partículas de vidrio (3.2). Posteriormente, durante el paso a través de un ducto de redondeo/expansión (6), las partículas de vidrio (3.2) se redondean para formar perlas sólidas de micro vidrio (3.3) y se expanden para formar perlas huecas de micro vidrio (3.4). Las perlas huecas de micro vidrio (3.4) pueden utilizarse ventajosamente como un material de relleno para materiales de construcción de peso ligero o como una parte constituyente de revestimientos, pinturas y yeso/revoco.
