Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para recuperar minerales de sulfuro que contienen metal o minerales de óxido que contienen metal sulfurado a partir de un mineral, que comprende someter al mineral, en la forma de una pulpa acuosa, a un proceso de flotación de espuma en la presencia de una cantidad flotante de un recolector de flotación, en donde el recolector comprende: (a) un hidrocarburo que contiene a uno o más unidades de monosulfuro, en donde los átomos de carbono a los que los átomos de sulfuro están ligados son átomos de carbono alifáticos o cicloalifáticos y el contenido total de carbono de la porción de hidrocarburo es tal que el hidrocarburo tiene suficiente naturaleza hidrófoba para hacer que el mineral de sulfuro que contiene metal o las partículas de mineral de óxido que contiene metal sulfurado sean sacadas a las entrefase de aire/burbuja; y (b) un tiocarbonato de alquilo, un tionocarbamato, un tiofosfato o sus mezclas; bajo condiciones tales que el mineral de sulfuro que contiene metal o el mineral de óxido que contiene metal sulfurado es recuperado en la espuma.
