Abstract

라이트 프로텍트 기능이 없는 불휘발성 메모리를 사용한 메모리카드 및 정보처리장치에 있어서 불휘발성의 소프트 웨어 라이트 프로텍트가 가능한 불휘발성 메모리 및 그것을 이용한 시스템 기술을 제공한다. 불휘발성 소프트 웨어 라이트 프로텍트 기능이 없는 개서 가능한 불휘발성 메모리를 이용한 플래시 메모리 카드로서 일괄전기적 소거 및 기록 가능한 플래시 메모리와 전원투입시의 파워 온 리셋 신호를 발생하는 리셋 IC와 이들이 디바이스간의 컨트롤러와 메모리카드 인터페이스와의 사이의 제어를 행하는 카드 컨트롤러를 포함하여 플랫 메모리에는 라이트 프로텍트를 행하고 싶은 에어리어의 어드레스를 라이트 하는 프로텍트 보존 레지스터가 어트리뷰영역에서 설정되며 시스템에서 프로텍트 범위가 설정된다.

본 내용은 요부공개 건이므로 전문내용을 수록하지 않았음
제1도는 본 발명의 실시예 1인 불휘발성 메모리를 이용한 메모리카드를 도시하는 불록구성도이고,
제2도는 실시예 1에서의 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 설정의 플로우챠트이고,
제3A도는 제2도의 라이트 프로텍트 보존 레지스터 라이트 절차(스텝)의 동작을 나타내는 타이밍 챠트이고,
제3B도는 제2도의 라이트프로텍트 정보전송의 타이밍챠트이고,
제4도는 실시예 1에서의 타이트프로텍트 정보전송계의 메모리카드의 회로의 블록도이도,
제5A도는 실시예 1에서의 메모리카드의 어드레스 맵을 나타내는 설명도이고,
제5B도는 커먼플래시 영역선택과 어트리뷰트영역선택의 방법을 설명하기 위한 타이밍챠트,

Claims (8)

  1. 불휘발성의 소프트웨어 라이트프로텍트 기능이 없는 개서(改書) 가능한 불휘발성 메모리로서, 유저측에서 액세스된 어드레스에 상응하는 불휘발성 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 제어를 행하기 위한 프로텍트 설정 수단과, 상기 설정 수단의 프로텍트 에어리어 설정 조작에 응답하여 소정의 데이터 소거단위에 상기 메모리의 임의의 라이트 프로텍트에어리어의 어드레스를 기록하기 위한 라이트 프로텍트 보존레지스터를 구비하는 불휘발성 메모리.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 라이트 프로텍트 에어리어는 상기 불휘발성 메모리의 선두에서 임의까지, 최종에서 임의까지, 또는 임의에서 또 다른 임의까지의 소거단위로 변경가능하게 설정되는 불휘발성 메모리.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 소정의 데이터 소거단위는 섹터단위 또는 메모리 디바이스의 블록단위로 변경가능하게 설정되는 불휘발성 메모리.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 불휘발성 메모리가 플래쉬 메모리로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 불활성 메모리.
  5. 불휘발성 메모리와, 적어도 상기 불휘발성 메모리카드 인터페이스 사이의 제어를 행하는 카드컨트롤러를 구비하는 제1항 기재의 불휘발성 메모리를 이용한 메모리카드.
  6. 불휘발성 메모리와, 적어도 중앙처리장치 및 그 주변장치를 구비하는 제1항 기재의 불휘발성 메모리를 이용한 정보처리장치.
  7. 메모리를 탑재한 메모리카드를 사용하여 불휘발성 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 기능이 없는 개서 가능한 불휘발성 메모리의 소프트 웨어 라이트 프로텍트 제어방법에 있어서, 상기 불휘발성 메모리에 라이트 프로텍트 보존 레지스터를 설정하는 단계와, 상기 라이트프로텍트 보존레지스터에 프로텍트 에리어를 나타내는 라이트 프로텍트 정보를 기입하는 단계와, 리셋조작 혹은 파워온 리셋 조작을 행하여 상기 라이트 프로텍트 정보를 상기 프로텍트 보존레지스터에서 상기 카드의 카드컨트롤러 내측의 라이트 프로텍트 레지스터로 전송하는 단계와, 그 후에 유저에 의하여 액세스되는 메모리의 기억 장소의 어드레스가 라이트 프로텍트 에리어 내측에 있는지 아닌지에 대하여 상기 액세스된 메모리의 기억장소의 어드레스를 판정하는 단계와, 상기 액세스된 장소의 어드레스가 라이트 프로텍트 에리어 내측에 있는 경우는 상기 메모리의 라이트 프로텍트 동작이 허용되도록 하고, 상기 액세스된 장소의 어드레스가 라이트 프로텍트에서 외측에 있는 경우는 상기 메모리의 라이트 프로텍트 동작이 허용되지 않도록 하여 소정의 데이터 소거 단위에 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 제어를 행하는 단계를 구비한 개서 가능한 불휘발성 메모리의 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 제어방법.
  8. 플래시메모리와 적어도 상기 플래시 메모리와 메모리카드 인터페이스와의 사이의 제어를 행하기 위한 카드콘트롤러를 구비하는 메모리 카드에 있어서, 상기 플래시 메모리는 불휘발성 소프트웨어 라이트 프로텍트 기능이 없는 개서 가능의 불휘발성 메모리로서, 유저측으로부터 액세스된 어드레스에 상응하여 불휘발성 소프트웨어 프로텍트 제어를 행하기 위한 프로텍트 설정 수단과, 상기 설정수단의 프로텍트 에리어 설정동작에 응답하여 소정의 데이터 소거단위에서 소망의 라이트프로텍트 에리어를 기록하기 위한 라이트 프로텍트 보존 레지스터를 포함하며, 상기 카드 콘트롤러는 유저측으로부터의 액세스에 응답하여 상기 플래시 메모리가 라이트 프로텍트 하여야할 영역을 나타내는 정보를 유지하고, 상기 정보가 불휘발성 메모리측의 기록 프로텍트 보존 레지스터에 라이트 가능하게 하는 콘트롤러 측의 라이트 프로텍트 보존레지스터와, 유저측으로 부터의 카드 조작에 응답하여 상기 메모리측의 라이트 프로텍트 보존레지스터로부터 전송된 라이트 프로텍트 정보를 유지하는 불휘발성 라이트 프로텍트 레지스터를 포함하는 메모리 카드.
