Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to a thermoelectric module, and more particularly, to a thermoelectric module capable of suppressing warping due to a temperature difference and a method of manufacturing the same.
The thermoelectric power generation module is a module that generates electricity by using a temperature difference by arranging a thermoelectric conversion element between a high temperature side heat exchanger and a low temperature side heat exchanger. The thermoelectric conversion element is applied to a Seebeck effect in which electric power is generated in a circuit when a different metal is joined to constitute an electric circuit and there is a temperature difference between both connection points.
The thermoelectric conversion element is divided into a P-type element formed of a P-type semiconductor thermoelectric material and an N-type element formed of an N-type semiconductor thermoelectric material, and the P-type element and the N-type element are connected in series by electrodes to constitute a thermoelectric module . Two substrates support thermoelectric conversion elements and electrodes on both sides. The substrate is formed of a ceramic material having high thermal conductivity.
However, when the thermoelectric module operates at a high temperature of 300 ° C or more, warpage may occur in a low temperature region where the temperature is low due to the temperature difference applied to the thermoelectric module. At this time, the ceramic material is not deformed sufficiently, unlike the soft metal material, so that stress is accumulated on the substrate and fatigue breakdown can be caused by applying a constant stress to the thermoelectric conversion element and the electrode.
An object of the present invention is to provide a thermoelectric module and a method of manufacturing the same that can prevent a bending phenomenon due to a temperature difference and a fatigue breakage caused thereby.
