Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electroplating apparatus.
A printed circuit board is formed by forming a plating layer through an electroplating process, forming a circuit through exposure, development and etching, or directly forming a circuit through an electroplating process after exposure and development.
When electroplating is carried out on one or both sides of a printed circuit board, a printed circuit board and an anode are electrically connected to a cathode in a plating bath containing a plating solution, and an anode is disposed so as to face each other. A current is flowed from the anode toward the printed circuit board Thereby forming a plating layer.
However, when the plating layer is formed by immersing the printed circuit board in the plating solution, the current density is concentrated on the outer periphery of the printed circuit board, and the plating thickness of the central portion and the outer portion is formed differently.

1 is a view schematically showing an electroplating apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. 2 is a view showing a part of a current density control unit applied to an electroplating apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The plating tank (10) receives the plating liquid (L). The
The plated body S may be a printed circuit board, but is not limited thereto. In the case where the object to be plated S is a printed circuit board, the printed
Each of the
Although not shown in FIG. 1, the
The current
The current
When electric charge is applied to the
Since the current
1 and 2 illustrate that the shape of the
The current
The core is formed of a material that is unavailable to the plating liquid L, such as a metal or a metal having a reduction potential value less than the reduction potential value of the positive ion in the plating liquid L. The core may be formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the body to be plated (S) or the surface to be plated. A through
The electrolytic coating is formed on the surface of the core including the through

3 is a view showing a hull cell as an experimental apparatus to which a current density control unit is applied. FIG. 4 is a view showing an electro-dissolution state of the current density regulator after the experiment of FIG. 3; FIG. Fig. 5 is a diagram schematically showing the thicknesses of plating layers formed according to the inter-pole distances of the plated bodies generated according to the experimental example and the comparative example of Fig. 3; Fig.
(Experimental Example)
As shown in FIG. 3, a plated body S and a current
Plating is carried out with an ordinary copper plating solution (L) in order to form a copper plating film of 100 mu m in the plating body (S).
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the region B of the
The electrochemical reaction that occurs in the
(Comparative Example)
Plating is performed under the same plating conditions as in the experimental example shown in FIG. 3, but the copper plate is removed and plating is performed.

Fig. 5 is a diagram schematically showing the thickness of the plating layer formed by distances to the anode of the plated body generated according to the experimental example and the comparative example of Fig. 3. Fig.
5A shows the thickness of the plating layer formed on the plated body (S in Fig. 3) according to the experimental example, and Fig. 5B shows the thickness of the plating layer formed on the plated body according to the comparative example Respectively. 5A and 5B, the X axis represents the distance from the
In the experimental example in which the
In the experimental example, the coating layer thickness deviation ratio of the plated body (S of FIG. 3) was about 80% of the average thickness, but in the comparative example, the plating layer thickness deviation ratio of the plated body (S of FIG. 3) Respectively.
