Description
The present invention relates to a tray for handling a semiconductor device, and more particularly to a pocket into which a bare chip stack container can be inserted to handle a bare chip stack container used to handle a bare chip as a unit device. It relates to a waffle-pack type tray provided.
Sales of semiconductor devices in the wafer state or semiconductor chip state are growing rapidly, and this rapid growth has stimulated technological development in many ways. Until recently, a tray having a plurality of pockets designed and formed in accordance with the specifications of each semiconductor element, such as a waffle-pack form, has been used for packaging and transporting semiconductor elements. This design is expensive because it requires a waffle-pack with a pocket of its own specification for each semiconductor device. In addition, the waffle-pack requires a space for inserting and removing each device, which can damage each device in the process of handling the waffle-pack with the device inserted.
If the semiconductor device is in the form of a package, a waffle-pack can be used. However, if the semiconductor device is not encapsulated such as a bare chip or a wafer, the above damage may be a fatal defect. As a result of the improvement of the waffle pack for handling bare chips, a bare chip stacking container has been developed that does not require an individual pocket or cavity. Among them, there is a bare chip stacking container sold under a trademark of Gel-Pak. Details of the gel-pack are as follows. Regardless of the specifications of the semiconductor devices, it consists of a dual structure of a body that can fix the elements on the gel-like film surface and a cover that covers them. No wear or loss In addition, since such a bare chip stacking container can be used regardless of the specifications of the bare chip, it does not use a separate tray according to each standard has a significant cost savings.
1 and 2 illustrate a state in which the bare chip loading container 100 is used according to the above example. 1 illustrates a state in which the bare chips 10 are packed in a bare chip stack container 100 in a state in which a cover 40 is removed, and FIG. 2 is packed in a bare chip stack container 100 and a clip ( 50) is shown in the cross section is fixed. More specifically, the bare chips 10 are placed and fixed on the film 20 of the gel component formed in a plane on the body 30 of the bare chip stacking container, and the clip 50 is covered with the cover 40 thereon. By using the body 30 and the cover 40 is combined to become a single transport unit.
Bare chip stacks are advantageous over waffle-packs, but have disadvantages in terms of cost and process efficiency. In other words, as shown in FIG. 2, there is a hassle in the process of attaching clips to each bare chip stacking container, and the size and waffle of the bare chip stacking container in shipping semiconductor devices packaged in the bare chip stacking container unit. -Different pack sizes can lead to an increase in packaging and transportation costs as equipment used in conventional waffle-pack processes cannot be used.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a waffle-pack type tray for handling a semiconductor device, and to handle the bare chip, the bare chip may be loaded into the bare chip stacking container, and then the bare chip stacking container may be handled as one unit device. We want to provide the structure of the tray.
In addition, the present invention aims to simplify the process by removing the clip used in the conventional bare chip loading container and at the same time present a method using a picker equipped with a finger of the forefinger as a method of transporting the bare chip loading container is not fixed to the clip. Allows the transfer of bare chip stack containers that are not in service.

In order to achieve this object, the present invention provides a waffle-pack type tray structure having a pocket into which a bare chip stacking container can be inserted, and by using such a tray, a conventional clip in handling the bare chip as a result. This eliminates the cumbersome process of using bare chip stacks and allows the use of existing process equipment.
The size of the pocket is formed in such a size that the bare chip stacking container can be inserted therein and is independent of the size of the bare chip packed in the bare chip stacking container. Currently, two types of bare chip stacking containers of 2 × 2 inch or 4 × 4 inch are used, so it is preferable to form two types of pockets of the tray as above, and most bare chips can be handled using them.
In addition, the tray can be used by changing from a heat-resistant material such as polyphenylene oxide (Polyphenylene Oxide), polyethylene sulfide (polyethylene sulfide) and polyphenylene sulfide (Polyphenylene sulfide) to a non-heat-resistant material such as polysulfone (Polysulfone). When the semiconductor device, which is provided in the form of a conventional package, is absorbed by a resin that forms the body of the package when stored at room temperature for a long time, a process such as dehumidification at high temperature is required to remove it, but a semiconductor device provided in the form of a bare chip. Since it does not require a high temperature dehumidification process, trays for packaging these devices can be made of more economical non-heat-resistant materials.

The support layer is formed to be stacked, and the lower end 230 of the upper rib is wrapped into the upper end 220 of the rib of the lower layer to form a superimposed shape. The upper end 220 of the rib is formed to be inclined so that the bare chip loading container 240 is easily inserted and the lower end 230 of the upper rib is accommodated when stacked.
6 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a state in which a bare chip stack container 320 is transferred to a tray using a picker 400 having a finger 310. Finger 310 shown in Figure 6 has a tong shape that can be fixed in contact with the top and bottom of the bare chip loading container 320 at the same time to transfer the bare chip loading container 400, the clip is not used, The number of fingers 310 consists of one opposing pair.
