Description
The embodiment relates to an ultraviolet light emitting device.
A light emitting diode (LED, Light Emitting Diode) is a kind of important solid-state device that converts electrical energy into light, and generally includes an active layer of a semiconductor material interposed between two opposite doping layers. When a bias is applied across the two doped layers, holes and electrons are injected into the active layer and recombine there to generate light. Light generated in the active region is emitted in all directions and escapes out of the semiconductor chip through all exposed surfaces. The packaging of an LED is generally used to direct the escaping light into the desired output emission form.
