Description
The present invention relates to a multi-layered PTFE hollow membrane separator membrane and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a multi-layer PTFE hollow membrane separator membrane capable of controlling the pores of the surface active layer and improving the removal efficiency of particulate matter through pore control, PTFE hollow membrane separator membrane and a method for producing the same.
Membrane distillation is a process in which phase change occurs on the surface of a hydrophobic polymer membrane and condensation and separation are performed by passing the steam through the micropores on the surface of the membrane. As a result, a material having a relatively low volatility It can be used for the desalting step or for separating organic matter having high volatility in an aqueous solution. For example, membrane distillation can be applied to separate ethanol from aqueous ethanol solutions such as bioethanol.
Membrane distillation membrane (MD) is advantageous to use hydrophobic polymer as a material of membrane, unlike reverse osmosis process, which is widely used at present, and MF membrane having a pore size of about 0.5 μm and a thickness of about 100 μm can be applied. Membrane distillation utilizes a hydrophobic polymer membrane. The membrane or membrane (hydrophilic material) has a surface tension greater than that of the membrane, so that it can not pass through the membrane pore in the liquid state and is repelled on the surface of the membrane. At the pore inlet, the substance to be separated is phase-converted into a vapor phase, diffused and permeated into pores, and finally condensed and separated at the permeation side. PTFE and PVDF, which are highly hydrophobic fluorinated polymers, are widely preferred as MD separator materials. Since polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has a very strong hydrophobicity of the material itself, the contact angle to water is larger than that of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and the permeation rate of water vapor is also excellent under the same conditions. It is popular as a material.
Meanwhile. The existing single-layer PTFE hollow fiber has difficulty in controlling the fine size of the precise pore because it is easy to secure the porosity of the separator by controlling the size of the pore using the stretching and shrinking process. In addition, It has a disadvantage that the backwashing efficiency is inferior due to the inability to discharge the pollutants in the backwashing process because the layer for filtering contaminants in the filtration process of the pollutant exists both inside and outside.
Furthermore. As a manufacturing process of a multi-layer PTFE hollow membrane distillation membrane using a conventional PTFE paste extrusion, it is possible to manufacture a membrane utilizing an external PTFE layer as an active layer. However, since the size of the pores must be controlled by the same stretching and shrinking process as that of single- It is difficult to finely adjust the size of the reaction mixture.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As described above, the conventional single-layer PTFE hollow fiber membrane has difficulty in controlling the fine size of the pores by controlling the size of the pores by using the stretching and shrinking processes. However, There is a problem in that the backwashing efficiency is inferior due to the inability to discharge the pollutants in the backwashing process because the layers that filter pollutants are present both inside and outside in the filtration process of the particulate pollutants. In addition, the multi-layered PTFE hollow fiber having PTFE nonwoven fabric as a support layer can be used to manufacture a multi-layer PTFE hollow membrane distillation membrane using a conventional PTFE paste extrusion, The pore size must be controlled by the same stretching and shrinking process as that of the single-layer PTFE, so that it is difficult to finely control the pore size.
Therefore, in the present invention, A PTFE support layer formed along the outer periphery of the hollow; And a fluorine resin layer formed along the outer periphery of the PTFE support layer and having a melting point lower than the melting point of the PTFE support layer, thereby solving the above-mentioned problem. Through this, it is possible to exhibit high removal efficiency of particulate contaminants through fine pore control and to improve the backwashing efficiency by finely controlling the pores of the external active layer to utilize it as a filtration layer.
In addition, since the problem of foreign substances being trapped in the pores in the filtration step is reduced, the filtration ability is remarkably improved, and filtration at a high flow rate becomes possible, and backwashing becomes very simple.

The pore size and the strength of the inner support layer can be maintained while controlling the size of the outer pore by controlling the amount of coating, the coating thickness, the content of the diluent, and the like to finely control the pore size. It is possible to manufacture a hollow fiber membrane which can be applied to various fields by preparing a membrane having a pore size suitable for the contaminant to be removed. In addition, since the particulate multi-layer structure having a fine external pore can not permeate the particulate pollutants into the inside, the particles are filtered through the external active layer, thereby improving the efficiency in the backwashing process.
Next, a method for producing the multilayered PTFE hollow fiber of the present invention will be described. First, as the step (1), a PTFE hollow fiber is prepared as a support. Generally, in order to produce a multi-layered PTFE hollow fiber, a PTFE nonwoven fabric is used as a support and PTFE is fused and stretched, or a PTFE support layer and a multilayer paste are prepared and a multilayered PTFE hollow fiber is produced in a preliminary molding and / or extrusion step. In the invention, a PTFE hollow fiber already stretched and fired can be used as the PTFE support layer forming the PTFE support layer (inner layer). Thereafter, the first PTFE hollow fiber is used as a PTFE support layer, and a fluororesin having a low melting point is melt-extruded thereon to produce a multi-layer PTFE hollow membrane distillation separation membrane.
바람직하게는 상기 불소수지는 MFA(테트라플루오로에틸렌-퍼플루오로메틸비닐에테르 공중합체) 및 PFA(테트라플루오로에틸렌-퍼플루오알킬비닐에테르 공중합체 또는 퍼플루오로알콕시 중합체)로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택되는 어느 하나 이상일 수 있다.Next, the PTFE hollow fiber produced as the step (2) is melt-extruded as a support layer together with a fluorine resin having a melting point lower than that of the support layer. The fluororesin which can be used for the melt extrusion can be a fluororesin having a melting point lower than the melting point of the PTFE hollow support layer by 30 DEG C or more. When the melting point of the PTFE is about 320 DEG C, the melting point of the fluororesin is 250 to 290 DEG C Lt; / RTI > Preferably, the fluororesin is selected from the group consisting of MFA (tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoromethyl vinyl ether copolymer) and PFA (tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer or perfluoroalkoxy polymer) And may be any one or more selected.
In the melt extrusion, since the PTFE hollow support layer is maintained in the shape and the fluororesin is melted and coated on the surface of the support layer and then extruded, the melt extrusion can proceed according to the following condition (1).
1][Relation 1]
In this case, the melt extrusion temperature may be 270 to 290 ° C.
The melt extrusion apparatus which can be used in the present invention can be used without limitation as long as the PTFE hollow support layer can be melted and extruded onto the surface of the support layer without being melted. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a diluent may be included in the fluororesin to induce formation of a large amount of pores. The diluent may be at least one selected from the group consisting of dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dibutyl phthalate (BDP), glycerin triacetate (GTA) ≪ RTI ID = 0.0 > and / or < / RTI >
If a diluent is used, it may further include removing the diluent after melt extrusion, in which case the diluent may be removed through a heating process. Preferably, the heating temperature can be performed at 150 to 340 占 폚. Thereafter, in order to prevent heat shrinkage of the multilayered PTFE hollow membrane separation membrane, it may be calcined, and the calcination temperature may be performed at 300 to 400 ° C for 10 seconds to 10 minutes.
The multi-layered PTFE hollow membrane separation membrane of the present invention may be employed in a conventional membrane separation membrane module and used in a membrane distillation apparatus. 2 is a perspective view illustrating a membrane separation membrane module according to an embodiment of the present invention. 75% by weight of PTFE fine powder (DF-130, Solvay) and 25% by weight of liquid paraffin (product of Exxon Mobil, trade name: Isopar-H) as a liquid lubricant were mixed to form a PTFE paste. The PTFE paste was compressed at a pressure of 3 MPa at 20 占 폚 to form a hollow preform, which was then extruded at 80 占 폚 under a pressure of 20 MPa (200 kg / cm2) and an inner diameter of 4 mm and an inner diameter of 2 mm. Then, the formed PTFE hollow fiber was heated at 120 DEG C for 5 minutes to remove liquid paraffin. The formed PTFE hollow fiber membrane was stretched twice in the longitudinal direction at 320 DEG C by a speed difference between the rollers to form a node and a fibril to form pores to prepare a stretched and fired PTFE hollow fiber support layer.
Subsequently, Hyflon MFA (Solvay) having a melting point of 270 占 폚 was melted by heating at an extrusion temperature of 280 占 폚 as a fluororesin forming an outer layer. Then, the PTFE hollow fiber support layer was supplied to the crosshead die, and the extrusion speed was adjusted so that the heat-melted MFA had a thickness of about 0.07 mm outside the support layer. At this time, the extrusion speed was 4 m / min.
