Description
Claims (16)
- 구동 요소(24)에 연결가능하고 또한 광 방출 요소(25)의 제 1 전극(29)에 연결가능한 데이터 라인(21)을 더 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀(20; 20')에서 상기 방출 요소(25)를 감지하는 방법으로서,반복되는 출력 기간 동안, 상기 데이터 라인(21)을 상기 구동 요소(24)에 연결하고, 구동 신호(V)를 상기 데이터 라인(21) 상에 제공하여 상기 방출 요소(25)가 광을 생성하도록 야기하는 단계,2개의 출력 기간 사이의 감지 기간 동안, 상기 데이터 라인(21)을 상기 방출 요소(25)의 제 1 전극(29)에 연결하고, 감지 전압(V1)을 상기 데이터 라인(21) 상에 제공하여 상기 방출 요소(25)를 역방향 바이어싱하는 단계, 및상기 방출 요소(25)를 통해 흐르는 임의의 누설 전류(IL)를 검출하는 단계를포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 감지 기간은 미리결정된 수의 출력 기간에 의해 분리되어 반복적으로 실행되는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 픽셀 셀(20; 20')은 상기 데이터 라인(21)을 상기 구동 요소(24) 또는 상기 방출 요소(25)의 애노드(29)에 연결하기 위하여 2개의 스위치(26, 27; 32, 33)를 포함하며,상기 방법은, 상기 감지 기간 동안 상기 데이터 라인(21)이 상기 제 1 전극(29)에만 연결되도록 상기 스위치를 제어하는 단계를 더 포함하는,능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 방출 요소(25)가 임의의 외부 영향을 받고 있는지를 결정하기 위하여 상기 누설 전류(IL)를 분석하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 방출 요소(25)가 결함이 있는지를 결정하기 위하여 상기 누설 전류를 분석하는 단계, 및 만약 상기 방출 요소가 결함이 있는 경우라면 상기 방출 요소 내의 임의의 결함을 제거하기 위하여 치유 전압을 상기 방출 요소(25)의 상기 제 1 전극(29)에 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 치유 전압은 후속 감지 기간 동안에 인가되는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 방출 요소가 결함이 있는지를 결정하기 위하여 상기 누설 전류를 분석하는 단계, 및 만약 상기 방출 요소가 결함이 있는 경우라면 상기 결함에 따라 상기 픽셀의 구동을 조정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 결함 픽셀은 비활성화되는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 결함을 마스킹하기 위하여 주변 픽셀의 구동이 조정되는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 조정 단계는 그 다음 후속 출력 기간 이전 또는 그 동안 실행되는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 방출 요소는 유기 광 방출 다이오드 또는 폴리머 광 방출 다이오드인, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 픽셀 셀의 광 방출 요소 감지 방법.
- 각각의 픽셀 셀이 전류 구동형 광 방출 요소(25) 및 상기 방출 요소의 제 1 전극(29)에 데이터 라인(21)을 연결하는 수단을 가지는, 복수의 픽셀 셀(20; 20')을 포함하는 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이에 있어서,방출 요소 캐소드 전압(31)에 대해 음인 감지 전압(V1)을 상기 데이터 라인 상에 제공하고, 이에 의해 상기 방출 요소(25)를 역방향 바이어싱하는 수단(1; 43, 44)과,상기 방출 요소를 통해 흐르는 임의의 누설 전류를 검출하는 수단(41, 42)을 더 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 디스플레이 디바이스.
