Description
Claims (7)
- 복수의 LED(light emitting diode)를 구동하는 LED구동장치에 있어서,고유의 어드레스를 가지며, 상기 복수의 LED를 각각 구동하는 복수의 드라이버;상기 복수의 드라이버에 연결된 시리얼버스; 및상기 복수의 LED를 구동하기 위한 제어신호 및 상기 복수의 드라이버가 순차적으로 동작되도록 하는 상기 어드레스를 상기 시리얼버스를 통하여 디지털데이터의 형태로 시리얼 전송하는 순차제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 복수의 드라이버 각각은,상기 제어신호 및 상기 어드레스에 대응하는 디지털데이터의 수신을 위하여 상기 시리얼버스를 통하여 상기 순차제어부와 데이터통신을 수행하는 제1시리얼버스인터페이스;상기 디지털데이터를 DA변환하여 상기 제어신호를 복원하는 DA컨버터;턴온 또는 턴오프됨으로써 소정의 전원장치 및 상기 대응하는 LED를 전기적으로 연결 또는 차단시키는 스위치; 및상기 제어신호에 따라 상기 스위치를 턴온 또는 턴오프시키는 신호를 출력함 으로써 상기 스위치를 구동하는 스위치구동부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 제어신호는 상기 LED에 흐르는 전류의 레벨을 나타내는 레벨신호 및 상기 스위치구동부의 동작을 제어하는 펄스폭변조신호를 포함하며,상기 각 드라이버는 상기 레벨신호 및 상기 펄스폭변조신호를 각각 저장하는 제1 및 제2레지스터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 제어신호는 상기 LED에 흐르는 오프셋전류의 레벨을 나타내는 오프셋전류신호를 더 포함하며,상기 각 드라이버는 상기 오프셋전류신호를 각 저장하는 제3레지스터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 드라이버는,상기 LED에 흐르는 전류를 검출하는 전류검출부;상기 검출된 전류신호를 AD변환하는 AD변환부; 및상기 AD변환된 전류신호를 저장하는 제4레지스터를 더 포함하며,상기 제1시리얼버스인터페이스는 상기 시리얼버스를 통하여 상기 제4레지스터에 저장된 전류신호의 데이터를 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 순차제어부는,상기 제어신호 및 상기 어드레스를 디지털데이터의 형태로 전송하기 위하여 상기 시리얼버스를 통하여 상기 복수의 드라이버와 데이터통신을 수행하는 제2시리얼버스인터페이스; 및상기 복수의 드라이버의 어드레스를 순차적으로 변경하면서, 상기 제어신호 및 상기 어드레스를 디지털데이터의 형태로 상기 제2시리얼버스인터페이스에 제공하는 인터페이스제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
- 제2항 또는 제6항에 있어서,상기 시리얼버스는 I2C(Inter-Integrated Circuit)버스이며,상기 제1 및 제2시리얼버스인터페이스는 I2C버스 프로토콜에 따라 데이터 통신을 수행하는 것 특징으로 하는 LED구동장치.
