발명의 분야
본 발명은 생리대, 일회용 기저귀, 성인 실금자용 브리프 등과 같은 흡수제품에 관한 것이며, 더욱 구체적으로는 본 발명은 다중 상면시이트를 갖는 흡수제품에 관한 것이다.
발명의 배경
사용자에게 건조한 표면 감촉을 느끼게 하여 착용 안락감을 개선시키고 일회용 흡수대에 흡수된 수분에 장시간 노출되는 경우 나타나는 바람직하지 못한 피부 질환의 발병을 최소화시키는, 일회용 기저귀, 월경 패드 생리대 실금자용 브리프 등과 같은 흡수장치를 제조하는 것이 일회용 흡수대 분야에서 오랫동안 요구되어 왔다.
전술한 문제점에 대한 한가지 효과적인 종래의 해결책은 1982년 8월 3일자로 레이델(Radel) 등에게 허여되고 통상적으로 양도된 미합중국 특허 제 4,342,314 호(본원에 참고로 인용됨)에 개시되어 있다. 레이델 등은 섬유-유사 특성 및 플라스틱 특성이 함께 나타나는 거시적으로 팽창된 탄성의 3차원 플라스틱 웹을 포함하는 착용자-접촉 상면시이트를 갖는 흡수대를 개시하고 있다. 바람직한 태양에서, 레이델 등의 상기 특허에 개시된 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원 플라스틱 웹 상면시이트는 상기 웹의 하나의 표면에서 시작되고 그로부터 연장되어 그의 대향 표면에서 구멍의 형태로 끝남으로써 유체의 신속한 수송을 촉진시키는 모세관 망상구조의 조절된 연속체를 포함하는 미세 규모의 3차원 미소 구조를 나타낸다. 웹의 섬유-유사 외관은 섬유-유사 요소의 연속체로 이루어지며, 각 섬유-유사 요소의 대향 말단은 삼유-유사 요소의 적어도 다른 하나의 말단과 상호 연결된다.
레이델 등의 구조체에서 전형적인 모세관 망상구조는 웹의 최상부 평면에서 상호 연결되는 다수의 섬유-유사 요소에 의해 형성되는 최상부 모세관 개구 또는 구멍을 포함한다. 각 섬유-유사 요소는 그의 길이를 따라 거의 균일한 U-형 단면을 나타낸다. 섬유-유사 요소의 단면은 착용자-접촉 평면에 위치하는 기부(base portion) 및 기부의 각 가장자리에 연결된 측벽부를 포함하며, 측벽부는 통상 웹의 흡수패드-접촉 표면 방향으로 연장된다. 서로 교차하는 측벽부는 웹의 착용자 접촉 표면과 흡수패드 접촉 표면의 중간에서 서로 연결됨으로써 웹의 대향 표면을 상호 연결하는 모세관 망상구조를 형성한다.
레이델 등에 의해 일반적으로 개시된 형태의 상면시이트는 유체가 상면시이트의 착용자-접촉 제 1 표면으로부터 흡수패드-접촉 제 2 표면으로 신속하게 전달되는 것을 촉진시키는데 매우 효과적이다. 따라서, 이 형태의 상면시이트는 기존의 부직 섬유상 상면시이트와 비교하여 사용시 깨끗하고 건조한 외관으로 인해 월경 패드 분야에서 광범위한 상업적 성공을 거두었다. 레이델 등의 상기 특허에 개시된 형태의 상면시이트를 갖는 흡수제품이 착용자-접촉 제 1 표면으로부터 흡수 패드-접촉 제 2 표면으로 체액의 신속한 전달을 촉진하는데 매우 효과적이기는 하지만, 흡수 코어내에 보유된 체액, 예컨대 월경을 차폐하는 정도는 모세관 망상구조의 크기에 따라 달라진다. 모세관 망상구조의 크기가 감소하면 상면시이트에 의해 제공되는 차폐량이 증가한다. 그러나, 모세관 망상구조가 지나치게 작으면 체액이 상면시이트를 통해 흡수 코어내로 통과될 수 없어 피부가 수분에 노출된다.
따라서, 본 발명의 목적은 흡수코어내에 보유된 체액의 차폐능을 증가시키면서 탁월한 유체 처리 특성을 갖는 상면시이트 또는 다중 상면시이트가 구비된 흡수제품을 제공하는 것이다.
발명의 개요
본 발명은, 바람직한 태양에서, 다중 상면시이트를 갖는 흡수제품, 예컨대 생리대, 팬티 라이너, 기저귀, 성인 실금자용 브리프, 붕대 등에 관한 것이다. 바람직하게는, 흡수제품은 천공되고 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원의 제 1 중합체 웹을 포함하는 제 1 상면시이트를 포함한다. 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원 중합체 웹은 서로 멀리 떨어진 평면상에 위치하는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대항 표면을 갖는다. 흡수제품은 또한 제 1 상면시이트 아래에 배치되는 제 2 상면시이트도 포함한다. 제 2 상면시이트는 서로 멀리 떨어진 평면상에 위치하는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖는 천공되고 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원의 제 2 중합체 웹을 포함한다. 흡수제품은 제 2 상면시이트 아래에 배치되는 흡수코어를 포함한다. 흡수코어는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 포함한다. 흡수코어는 또한 흡수코어 아래에 배치되는 배면시이트도 포함한다. 배면시이트는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖는다.
바람직한 태양에서, 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트는 모세관의 망상구조를 형성하는 상호 연결된 섬유-유사 요소의 연속체를 포함한다. 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트를 통해 흡수코어내로 유체를 전송시키기 위하여 제 1 상면시이트의 구멍은 제 2 상면시이트의 구멍보다 더 크다. 특히 바람직한 태양에서, 제 1 상면시이트의 구멍은 제 2 상면시이트의 구멍과 실질적으로 일치하지 않게 배열된다.
바람직하게는, 제 1및 제 2 상면시이트는 각각 다층 중합체 필름으로 구성된다. 흡수코어내에 흡수 및 보유되는 체액의 차페능을 증가시키기 위하여, 다층 중합체 필름은 이산화티탄을 포함한다.

본원에 사용되는 용어 "흡수제품"은 신체 분비물을 흡수 및 함유하는 장치를 일컬으며, 더욱 구체적으로는 착용자의 신체에 대향하거나 근접하게 위치하여 신체로부터 분비되는 다양한 분비물을 흡수 및 함유하는 장치를 일컫는다. 본원에 사용되는 용어 "일회용"은 세탁되거나 또는 다른 방법으로 복원되거나 또는 흡수제품으로서 재사용되지않는 흡수제품(즉, 이들은 일회 사용 후 폐기되며 바람직하게는 재순환되거나 퇴비화되거나. 또는 환경에 해가 되지 않는 방식으로 달리 폐기된다)을 나타낸다. "일체형" 흡수제품은 함께 조합되어 조화된 물체를 형성함으로써 별도의 홀더 및 패드와 같은 별도의 조작부품을 필요로 하지 않는 개별적인 부품으로 형성된 흡수제품을 일컫는다.
본 발명의 일체형의 일회용 흡수제품의 바람직한 태양은 제 1 도에 도시된 월경 패드, 즉 생리대(20)이다. 본원에 사용되는 용어 "생리대"는 여성에 의해 통상 비뇨생식기 영역의 외부인 외음부 영역에 인접하여 착용되며 월경액 및 착용자 신체로부터 방출되는 기타 질 분비물(예:혈액, 월경 및 뇨)을 흡수 및 함유하는 흡수제품을 일컫는다. 부분적으로는 착용자의 전정내에 또한 부분적으로는 그의 외부에 놓여지는 음순간 장치도 본 발명의 범주에 속한다. 본원에 사용된 용어 "외음부"는 외부에서 보이는 여성의 생식기를 일컫는다. 그러나, 본 발명이 또한 팬티 라이너와 같은 기타 여성 위생 또는 월경 패드 또는 실금자용 브리프 등과 같은 기타 흡수제품에도 또한 적용될 수 있음을 알아야 한다.

생리대(20)는 2개의 표면, 즉 신체-접촉 표면 또는 신체-대향 표면(20a) 및 가멘트 대향 표면(20b)을 갖는다. 신체 대향 표면(20a)에서 본 생리대(20)가 제 1 도에 도시되어 있다. 생리대(20)가 착용될 때 신체 대항 표면(20a)은 착용자의 신체에 인접하여 착용되는 반면, 가멘트 대향 표면(20b)은 반대측에 있으며 착용자의 언더가멘트에 인접하여 위치된다. 생리대(20)는 2개의 중심선, 즉 종방향 중심선 "l" 및 횡방향 중심선 "t"을 갖는다. 본원에서 사용되는 용어 "종방향"은 통상 생리대(20)가 착용될 때 서 있는 착용자를 좌측 및 우측 신체로 양분하는 수직평면과 나란히 배열되는(예컨대, 거의 평행인) 생리대(20) 평면상의 선, 축 또는 방향을 일컫는다. 본원에 사용되는 용어 "횡방향" 또는 "측방향"은 상호교환가능하고, 통상 종방향과 수직인 생리대(20) 평면내에 있는 선, 축 또는 방향을 일컫는다. 제 1 도는 또한 생리대(20)가 생리대(20)의 외부 가장자리(여기에서는, 종방향 가장자리(또는 "측면 가장자리")가 (31)로, 또한 말단 가장자리(또는 "말단")이 (32)로 표시되어 있음)에 의해 한정되는 주변부(30)를 가짐을 보여준다.

생리대(20)는 바람직하게는 착용자 팬티의 가랑이 부위 주위에 절첩되는 임의적인 측면 플랩 또는 "날개(wing)"(34)를 포함한다. 측면 플랩(34)은 착용자 괜티가 더러워지지 않도록 보호하고 생리대를 착용자 팬티에 고정시켜 유지시키는 것을 포함하나, 이들로 한정되지는 않는 다목적 역할을 수행할 수 있다.
제 2 도는 제 1 도의 선(2-2)을 따라 취한 생리대(20)의 단면도이다. 제 2 도에서 볼 수 있는 바와 같이, 생리대(20)는 바람직하게는 생리대(20)를 착용자의 언더가멘트에 부착시키기 위한 접착 고정 수단 (36)을 포함한다. 제거가능한 릴리이스 라이너(37)는 접착제가 사용 전에 언더가멘트의 가랑이 부위 이외의 표면에 접착되지 않도록 하기 위해 접착 고정 수단(36)을 덮는다.
흡수코어(24)는 액체(예: 월경 및/또는 뇨)를 흡수 또는 보유할 수 있는 임의의 흡수 수단일 수 있다. 제 1 도에 도시된 바와 같이, 흡수코어(24)는 신체 대향 표면, 가멘트 대향 표면, 측면 가장자리 및 말단 가장자리를 갖는다. 흡수코어(28)는 통상 에어펠트로 불리는 분쇄된 목재 펄프와 같은 생리대 및 기타 흡수제품에 통상적으로 사용되는 다양한 액체-흡수성 물질로부터 다양한 크기 및 형태(예: 장방형, 난형, 모래시계형, 견골형, 비대칭형 등)로 제조될 수 있다. 다른 적합한 흡수성 물질의 예는 크레이핑된 셀룰로즈 와딩, 코폼(coform)을 비롯한 용융취입된 중합체, 화학적으로 강화, 개질 또는 가교된 셀룰로즈 섬유, 크림핑된 폴리에스테르 섬유와 같은 합성섬유; 물이끼; 티슈 랩 및 티슈 적층체를 비롯한 티슈; 흡수성 포움; 흡수성 스폰지; 초흡수성 중합체; 흡수성 겔화물질; 또는 임의의 유사 물질 또는 그의 혼합물, 또는 이들 물질의 혼합물을 포함한다. 흡수코어의 형태 및 구조는 변할 수 있다(예를 들어, 흡수코어는 변화되는 캘리퍼 대역(예컨대 중심에서 더 두껍도록 프로파일링됨), 친수성 구배, 초흡수성 구배, 또는 보다 낮은 밀도 및 보다 낮은 평균 기본중량 포획 대역을 가질 수 있거나; 하나 이상의 층 또는 구조체를 포함할 수 있다). 그러나, 흡수코어의 총 흡수용량은 생리대의 설계 하중 및 의도되는 용도에 부합하여야 한다. 또한, 흡수코어의 크기 및 흡수용량은 실금자용 패드, 팬티 라이너, 일반형 생리대 또는 취침용 생리대와 같은 상이한 용도에 적합하도록 변화될 수 있다.

제 3 도는 생리대(20)의 제 1 상면시이트(21) 및 제 2 상면시이트(22)로서 사용하기 적합한 것으로 밝혀진, 1982년 8월 3일자로 레이델 등에게 허여되고 통상적으로 양도된 미합중국 특허 제 4,342,314호의 교지내용에 따른 천공되고 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원의 섬유-유사 유체 투과성 중합체 웹(40)의 특히 바람직한 태양의 확대되고 부분적으로 절취된 사시도이다. 본 발명의 3차원 플라스틱 웹을 기재하는데 사용되는 용어 "거시적으로 팽창된"은 웹의 두 표면이 모두 성형 구조체의 거시적 단면에 상응하는 표면 돌출부의 3차원 성형 패턴을 나타내도록 3차원 성형 구조체의 표면에 따르는 웹, 리본 및 필름을 일컬으며, 상기 패턴을 포함하는 표면 돌출부는 관찰자의 눈과 웹의 평면사이의 수직 거리가 약 12인치일 때 정상적인 나안, 즉 물체의 겉보기 크기 또는 거 리를 변화시키는 기구 또는 다른 방식으로 시력을 변화시키는 기구에 의해 도움을 받지 않고 20/20 시력을 갖는 정상적인 나안으로 개별적으로 식별될 수 있다. 본 발명의 플라스틱 웹의 외관을 설명하기 위해 본원에 사용되는 용어 "섬유-유사"는 인간의 눈으로 볼 때 전체적으로 직조 또는 부직 섬유상 웹의 외관 및 느낌을 주는, 랜덤하거나 또는 랜덤하지 않고, 망상조직이거나 망상조직이 아닌 구멍의 임의의 미세 규모 패턴을 일컫는다. 제 3 도에서 볼 수 있는 바와 같이, 웹의 섬유-유사 외관은 섬유-유사 요소의 연속체로 이루어지며, 각 섬유-유사 요소의 대향 말단은 적어도 다른 하나의 섬유-유사 요소 말단에 상호 연결된다. 제 3 도에 개시되어 있는 태양에서는, 상호 연결된 섬유-유사 요소가 5각형 모세관(41)의 패턴 망상구조를 형성한다. 섬유-유사 외관을 나타내는 웹(40)은, 인접한 모세관(41) 사이에서 유체를 측방향으로 투과시키지 않으면서 웹의 최상 표면(42)으로부터 최하 표면(44)까지 유체를 신속하게 운송하기 위하여, 웹의 평면(13)의 최상의 착용자-접촉 또는 신체 대향 표면(42)으로부터 평면(45)의 최하 또는 가멘트 대향 표면(44)까지 연장되는 3차원 미소구조체를 실현한다. 본원에 사용되는 용어 "미소구조체"는 정밀한 세부구조가 현미경 또는 당해 분야에 공지되어 있는 기타 수단에 의해 확대될 때에만 인간의 눈으로 용이하게 인식되는 정도로 미세한 규모의 구조체를 일컫는다.
신체 표면(42)의 구멍(47)은 웹의 신체 대향 표면에서 서로 연결된 다수의 교차하는 섬유-유사 요소, 예를 들어 요소(48, 49, 50, 51, 52)에 의해 형성된다. 각 섬유-유사 요소는 평면(43)에 위치하는 기부, 예컨대 기부(54)를 포함한다. 각 기부는 그의 각 가장자리에 부착된 측벽부, 예컨대 측벽부(56)를 갖는다. 측벽부(56)는 통상 웹의 제 2 표면(44) 방향으로 연장된다. 섬유-유사 요소의 교차하는 측벽부는 웹의 제 1 및 제 2 표면의 중간에서 서로 연결되며, 제 2 표면의 평면(45)에서 서로 거의 동시에 종결된다.
제 3 도에 도시된 특히 바람직한 실시태양에서, 상호 연결된 측벽부(56)는 제 2 표면(45)의 평면에서 서로 거의 동시에 종결되어 웹의 제 2 표면(45)에 구멍(58)을 형성한다. 구멍(47, 58) 사이의 상호연결된 측벽부(56)에 의해 형성되는 모세관(41)의 망상구조는 인접한 모세관 사이에서 유체를 측방향으로 투과시키지 않으면서 웹의 신체 대향 표면으로부터 직접 웹의 가멘트 대향 표면으로 유체가 자유 전달되도록 한다.
기부(54)는 바람직하게는 1984년 7월 31일자로 아 등에게 허여되고 통상적으로 양도된 미합중국 특허 제 4,463,045호의 교지내용에 따른 표면 돌출부(60)의 미시적인 패턴을 포함한다. 표면 돌출부(60)의 미시적인 패턴은 웹(40)이 입사광선을 받을 때 실질적으로 광택이 없는 가시 표면을 제공한다.
흡수코어에 보유된 체액을 더욱 양호하게 차폐하기 위하여, 제 1 상면시이트(21)의 모세관은 아래에 놓인 제 2 상면시이트(22)의 모세관과 동일한 크기 형태 및/또는 배열을 나타내지 않는다. 따라서, 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트가 동일한 성형 구조체로부터 제조되어 유사한 상면시이트를 제조하는 경우, 제 1 상면시이트는 바람직하게는 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트의 모세관이 서로 실질적으로 일치되지 않게 배열되도록 제 2 상면시이트 상에 위치된다. 다르게는, 각각 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트가 상이한 패턴을 가지도록 이들을 성형시키는데 상이한 성형 구조체를 사용함으로써 각각의 모세관이 일치되지 않게 배열할 수 있다.
제 1 상면시이트(21)의 모세관과 제 2 상면시이트(22)의 모세관을 일치되지 않게 배열함으로써 흡수코어(24)에 보유된 체액이 더욱 양호하게 차폐되지만, 체액은 제 1 상면시이트(21)로부터 제 2 상면시이트(22)를 통해 흡수 코어(24)내로 투과될 수 있어야 한다. 따라서, 제 2 상면시이트는 제 1 상면시이트(21)의 가멘트 대향 표면의 구멍을 완전히 차단하도록 사이징되거나, 성형되거나 또는 배열될 수 없다. 제 1 및 제 2 상면시이트 사이를 따라 유체가 이동할 통로가 있어야 한다.
바람직하게는, 제 2 상면시이트(22)의 모세관은 제 1 상면시이트의 모세관보다 크기가 약간 더 작다. 제 1상면시이트(21)의 모세관이 제 2 상면시이트(22)의 모세관보다 약간 더 큼으로 인해 모세관 구배가 형성된다. 이 모세관 구배는 제 1 상면시이트(21) 상에 침적된 유체가 제 2 상면시이트(22)를 통해 흡수코어(24)내로 투과되는 것을 돕는다.
제 1 상면시이트 및 제 2 상면시이트(21, 22)는 각각 바람직하게는 불투명한 외관을 나타내는 다층 중합체 필름으로 이루어진다. 다층 필름은 실질적으로 중합체 물질로 이루어진 제 1 외출 및 상기 제 1 외층의 한쪽 면에 실질적으로 연속하여 연결되는 중심의 충전제-함유 중합체 층을 포함한다. 중심의 충전제-함유 층은 바람직하게는 충전제-함유 층에 대해 약 20 내지 60중량%의 충전제를 갖는다(이들은 균일하게 분산되어 있음). 이산화티탄 또는 탄산티탄 같은 충전제를 사용하여 상면시이트에 백색의 불투명한 외관을 제공할 수 있다. 중심의 충전제-함유 층은 다층 필름의 총 두께의 약 30 내지 약 70%의 두께를 갖는다. 실질적으로 중합체 물질로 이루어진 제 2 외층은 중심의 충전제-함유층의 제 2 면에 실질적으로 연속하여 연결된 한 면을 갖는다. 전체 다층 필름은 바람직하게는 전체 다층 필름에 대해 20중량% 이상의 충전제를 갖는다. 이러한 다층 상면시이트의 적합한 예는 1992년 4월 6일에 비셔(Visscher) 및 페리(Perry)의 명의로 출원되고 통상적으로 양도된 미합중국 특허원 제 07/863,936 호(발명의 명칭 "Multilayer Film Exhibiting an Opaque Appearance")에서 찾을 수 있으며, 상기 특허원은 본원에 참고로 인용되어 있다.
외층 및 중심의 충전제-함유 층에 바람직한 중합체 물질은 폴리올레핀, 특히 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌 및 하나 이상의 올레핀 구성요소를 갖는 공중합체를 포함한다. 폴리에스테르, 나일론, 이들의 공중합체 및 전술한 물질의 임의의 혼합물 같은 다른 물질도 또한 적합할 수 있다.
본 발명의 바람직한 태양에서, 성형 필름 상면시이트의 신체 대향 표면은 친수성이어서 액체가 상면시이트를 통해 신체 대향 표면이 친수성이 아닌 경우보다 더욱 신속하게 전달되도록 함으로써 월경액이 흡수코어내로 유동되어 흡수코어에 의해 흡수되기 보다는 상면시이트 밖으로 흘러나가는 기회를 감소시킨다. 바람직한 태양에서는, 1991년 11월 19일자로 아지즈(Aziz)등의 명의로 출원된 미합중국 특허원 제 07/794,745호(발명의 명칭: "Absorbent Article Having A Nonwoven and Apertured Film Coversheet")(이는 본원에 참고로 인용되어 있음)에 기재되어 있는 바와 같이, 제 1 및 제 2 성형 필름 상면시이트의 중합체 물질 중으로 계면활성제를 혼입시킨다. 다르게는, 오스본(Osborn)에게 허여된 상기 참조한 미합중국 특허 제 4,950,254호(이는 본원에 참고로 인용되어 있음)에 기재된 바와 같이, 계면활성제로 상면시이트의 신체 대향 표면을 처리함으로써 이들을 친수성으로 만들 수 있다.
사용시, 임의의 지지 수단 또는 이러한 목적을 위해 널리 공지된 부착 수단에 의해 생리대(20)를 제자리에 유지시킬 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 생리대를 사용자의 언더가멘트 또는 팬티에 위치시키고 접착제(36) 같은 패스너에 의해 고정시킨다. 접착제(36)는 팬티의 가랑이 부위에 생리대(20)를 고정시키는 수단을 제공한다. 따라서, 배면시이트(23)의 외표면중 일부 또는 전부를 접착제로 피복한다. 이러한 목적으로 당해 분야에서 사용되는 임의의 접착제 또는 아교를 본원의 접착제로 사용할 수 있으나, 감압성 접착제가 바람직하다. 적합한 접착제는 오하이오주 콜럼버스 소재의 센츄리 어드헤시브즈 코포레이견(Century Adhesives Corporation) 제품인 센츄리(Century) A-305-IV-, 및 뉴저지주 브리지워터 소재의 내셔널 스타치 앤드 케미칼 캄파니(National Starch and Chemical Company) 제품인 인스턴트 락(Instant Lock) 34-2823이다. 적합한 접착 패스너는 또한 미합중국 특허 제 4,917,697호에 기재되어 있다. 사용시 생리대를 위치시키기 전에, 접착제(36)가 건조되어 버리거나 또는 사용 전에 팬티의 가랑이 부위 이외의 표면에 접착되지 않도록 하기 위해 감압성 접착제(36)를 전형적으로 제거가능한 릴리이스 라이너(37)로 덮는다. 적합한 릴리이스 라이너(37)는 또한 상기 참조한 미합중국 특허 제 4,917,697호에 기재되어 있다. 이러한 목적으로 통상적으로 사용되는 임의의 시판중인 릴리이스 라이너를 본원에 사용할 수 있다. 적합한 릴리이스 라이너의 비제한적인 예는 위스콘신주 메나샤 소재의 애크로실 코포레이션(Akrosil Coporation) 제품인 BL30MG-A Silox El/0 및 BL30MG-A Silox 4P/O이다. 릴리이스 라이너(37)를 제거한 후 접착제(36)가 팬티와 접촉하도록 생리대(10)를 팬티에 위치시킴으로써 본 발명의 생리대(20)를 사용한다. 접착제(36)는 사용시 생리대를 팬티내의 제 위치에 유지시킨다.
본 발명의 바람직한 태양에서, 생리대(20)는 각각 흡수코어의 측부 가장자리에 인접하고 상기 측부 가장자리로부터 측방향으로 연장되는 2개의 플랩(34)을 갖는다. 플랩(34)은 가랑이 영역에서 착용자 팬티의 가장자리 위로 늘어지는 형태를 하여 플랩이 착용자 팬티의 가장자리와 허벅지 사이에 배치되도록 한다. 플랩(34)은 2개 이상의 목적을 갖는다. 첫째로, 플랩(34)큰 바람직하게는 팬티의 가장자리를 따라 이중 차단 벽을 형성함으로써 착용자 신체 및 팬티가 월경 액으로 더럽혀지지 않도록 한다. 두번째로, 플랩(34)은 플랩이 팬티 아래로 절첩되어 팬티의 가멘트 대향면에 부착될 수 있도록 가멘트 표면상의 부착 수단을 갖는다. 이러한 방식으로, 플랩(14)은 생리대(20)를 팬티에 적절한 위치에 유지시키는 역할을 한다. 플랩(34)은 상면시이트, 배면시이트, 티슈와 유사한 물질, 또는 이들 물질의 혼합물을 포함하는 다양한 물질로 구성될 수 있다. 또한, 플랩(34)은 생리대의 주몸체부에 부착되는 별도의 요소일 수 있거나 상면시이트와 배면시이트의 연장부를 포함할 수 있다(즉, 일체형임). 본 발명의 생리대에 사용하기 적합하거나 적합해진 플랩을 갖는 다수의 생리대가 1987년 8월 18일자로 반 틸버그(Van Tilburg)에게 허여된 미합중국 특허 제 4,687,478호; 1986년 5월 20일자로 반 틸버그에게 허여된 미합중국 특허 제 4,589,876호; 및 1986년 8월 26일자로 매팅글리(Mattingly)에게 허여된 미합중국 특허 제 4,608,047호에 개시되어 있다. 이들 특허 각각은 본원에 참고로 인용되어 있다.

Claims (17)

  1. (a) 서로 멀리 떨어진 평면상에 위치하는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖는 천공되고 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원의 제 1 중합체 웹을 포함하는 제 1 상면시이트;
    (b) 서로 멀리 떨어진 평면상에 위치하는 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖는 천공되고 거시적으로 팽창된 3차원의 제 2 중합체 웹을 포함하는, 상기 제 1 상면시이트 아래에 배치되는 제 2 상면시이트;
    (c) 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖고, 상기 제 2 상면시이트 아래에 배치되는 흡수코어; 및
    (d) 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖고, 상기 흡수코어 아래에 배치되는 배면시이트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 흡수제품.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    제 1 상면시이트가 모세관의 망상구조를 형성하는 상호연결된 섬유-유사 요소의 연속체를 포함하는 흡수제품.

    (d) 신체 대향 표면 및 가멘트 대향 표면을 갖고, 상기 흡수코어 아래에 배치되는 배면시이트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 흡수제품.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서,
