Abstract
C1-12 Alkylacrylate and unsaturated carboxylic acid such as acrylic acid or methacrylic acid are batch-polymerized in the presence of anionic surfactant and anionic initiator to have conversion rate > 90%(1st step), this converted polymer is promoted to have conversion rate > 95-100% by adding the alkylacrylate and the unsaturated carboxylic acid with anionic initiator(2nd step). The total amount of used unsaturated carboxylic acid during 1st and 2nd steps is 0.5-8 weight parts on the basis of alkylacrylate 100 weight parts.
