Description
The present invention relates to a light emitter and a display device including the light emitter.
Electronic devices that are damaged by moisture, such as capacitors and organic EL (Organic Electro Luminescence) devices, need to be used in a sealed state in order to eliminate moisture. However, only the sealant used in such a sealed electronic device cannot completely prevent moisture from entering. For this reason, unless there is a mechanism for removing moisture that gradually enters the device, the function of the electronic device gradually deteriorates with time.
A typical example of such a device is an organic EL device. An organic EL device is a kind of display device, and includes an organic EL element having a structure in which an organic material layer (a charge transport layer and an organic light emitting layer) is sandwiched between an anode and a cathode as a light emitter. The organic EL element has a problem that light emission characteristics such as luminance and light emission efficiency are gradually lowered due to moisture that has entered the organic EL device as the driving period becomes longer.
As a means of protecting such sealed electronic devices from moisture that enters from the outside, a technique to keep moisture inside the device in a low-humidity environment by placing a moisture scavenger such as an organometallic compound or metal alkoxide in the device in advance. (For example, refer to JP-A-2005-298598 and JP-T-2008-518399).
However, when such an organometallic compound, metal alkoxide, or the like is used as a moisture scavenger, a decomposition product is produced by reacting with water. When the decomposition product diffuses inside the device, it may be absorbed by an organic material such as a charge transport layer or an organic light emitting layer constituting the device or may cause volume expansion of voids existing in the device. As a result, pinholes are generated in the device, and the device is deformed to promote moisture intrusion, thereby shortening the device life.
One of the objects according to some embodiments of the present invention is to provide a long-life and highly reliable light-emitting body and a display device including the light-emitting body, in which deterioration due to moisture is sufficiently low over a long period of time. is there.

In addition, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and includes various modifications that are implemented within a range that does not change the gist of the present invention. Note that not all the configurations described in the following embodiments are indispensable configurations of the present invention.
1. Light Emitting Body The
1.1. Support Substrate The
On the
The
The material of the
The
1.2. Organic EL Element The
The

1.3. Configuration of First Protective Film The first
1.4. Configuration of Second Protective Film The second
1.5. Third Protective Film The third
In addition, as one of the functions of the third
The third
The third
In this example, the
In the

1.6. 2 and 3 are schematic views of cross sections of the
In the

R 1 preferably has 6 to 30 carbon atoms, more preferably 10 to 20 carbon atoms, and particularly preferably 12 to 20 carbon atoms. By compound represented by the general formula (1) is hydrolyzed, hydrolysis component such as an alkane or an alcohol derived from R 1 (R 1 H) are generated. However, if the carbon number of R 1 is within the above range, the boiling point of these hydrolysis components becomes high and it is difficult to become an outgas component, and depending on the combination with the binder described later, a uniform mixture with the binder is formed. It is preferable because it is easy. Moreover, when the carbon number of R 1 is within the above range, the generated hydrolysis component (R 1 H) does not act as a plasticizer for the protective film, which is preferable in terms of not increasing thermal fluidity. In addition, it is preferable that the boiling point of a hydrolysis component is 200 degreeC or more in 1 atmosphere, and it is more preferable that it is 250 degreeC or more. If it is 200 degreeC or more, the spreading | diffusion of this hydrolysis component can be suppressed.
Moreover, when the said organometallic compound is mix | blended with the 1st
Furthermore, in the compound represented by the general formula (1), it is more preferable that all of R 1 present in a plurality have an unsaturated bond. When all of R 1 has an unsaturated bond, the amount of R 1 remaining in the protective film can be reduced when the type of binder described later is appropriately selected. In that case, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of hydrolysis component such as an alkane or an alcohol derived from R 1 (R 1 H).
When R 1 has an unsaturated bond, the unsaturated bond is preferably a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond. When it is a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond, for example, it can react with a Si—H bond to generate a stable Si—C bond. In such a case, since the Si—C bond is stable even when the compound represented by the general formula (1) reacts with water and hydrolyzes, an alkane or alcohol derived from R 1 , etc. Generation of the hydrolysis component (R 1 H) can be suppressed.
Furthermore, the carbon-carbon unsaturated bond is more preferably an ethylenic unsaturated bond. Since the ethylenically unsaturated bond is rich in reactivity with the Si—H bond, the reaction may easily proceed depending on the combination of the compound represented by the general formula (1) and a binder described later. is there. In this way, it is possible to reduce the amount of compounds derived from R 1 remaining without reacting with the binder, it can be suppressed and thus occurrence of hydrolysis component such as an alkane or an alcohol derived from R 1 (R 1 H) There is a case.
From such points, the compound represented by the general formula (1) is more preferably, for example, a compound represented by the following general formula (2).
In the general formula (2), R 3 is a divalent organic group. The divalent organic group is preferably a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group or oxyalkylene group. R 4 is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group. The monovalent organic group is preferably one selected from a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, alkynyl group, cyclic alkyl group, aryl group and carboxyl group. R 3 and R 4 can be appropriately selected depending on the moisture absorption characteristics to be expressed. In addition, when the ether structure is present in the group represented by R 3 or R 4 , compatibility with certain types of binders described later may be improved. Depending on the characteristics, the ratio of the amount of the compound of the general formula (2) and the binder can be freely controlled.
Specific examples of the compound represented by the general formula (2) include, for example, tri (2,2-bis (allyloxymethyl) -1-butoxy) aluminum, tri (2- (2-vinyloxyethoxy) ethoxy) Aluminum, tri (2-dodecenoxy) aluminum, di [1,3-bis (methacryloyloxy) -2-propoxy] magnesium, di (2,2-bis (allyloxymethyl) -1-butoxy) magnesium, di (2 -(2-vinyloxyethoxy) ethoxy) magnesium, di (methacryloyloxy-2-ethoxy) magnesium and the like.
Tri (2,2-bis (allyloxymethyl) -1-butoxy) aluminum, tri (2- (2-vinyloxyethoxy) ethoxy) aluminum and di [1,3-bis (methacryloyloxy) -2-propoxy Magnesium is a novel compound having a very excellent moisture trapping action, and has a structure represented by the following formula (3) and the following formula (4), respectively. Further, the compounds represented by the following formula (3), the following formula (4) and the following formula (5) are all excellent in compatibility with siloxane compounds among the binders described later, and are transparent protective films. The compound represented by the above formula (3) is added to 2.8 to 3.5 equivalents of trimethylolpropane diallyl ether little by little while stirring triisobutylaluminum, and is allowed to start at an appropriate temperature of 0 to 150 ° C. for 1 hour. In addition, in the production process of the compound represented by the above formula (4), there may be a case where a component derived from the reaction solution or a by-product inevitably mixed in the product, but the above formula (4) represents the case. Any product containing a compound as a main component can be applied to the formation of a protective film.
Moreover, the manufacturing method of the compound shown by the said Formula (5) is demonstrated. Then, the compound shown by said Formula (5) is obtained by post-processing in accordance with a conventional method. In addition, in the production process of the compound represented by the formula (5), components derived from the reaction solution and by-products that are inevitably mixed in the product may be mixed, but the formula (5) indicates Any product containing a compound as a main component can be directly applied to the present embodiment.
The content of the moisture scavenger in the protective film according to the present embodiment is preferably 10% by mass or more and 90% by mass or less, more preferably 30% by mass or more when the total mass of the protective film is 100% by mass. 70% by mass or less. It is preferable that the content of the moisture scavenger is in the above range because the action of trapping moisture can be effectively expressed in the protective film.

1.7.2. Binder When a moisture scavenger is contained in each protective film, a binder can be used as appropriate when a substance that is difficult to form a film with a water scavenger alone is selected. Thereby, each protective film can be formed in a layer shape or a thin film shape. An example of such a binder is a polymer compound. The polymer compound in this case is not particularly limited, and for example, a wide range of materials such as a thermoplastic resin and a thermosetting resin can be selected. Specific examples of the polymer compound include (meth) acrylic acid, methyl methacrylate (MMA), ethyl methacrylate (EMA), propyl methacrylate (PMA), butyl methacrylate (BMA), ethyl hexyl methacrylate (EHMA), Trimethoxysilylpropyl methacrylate (TMSPMA), tertiary butyl methacrylate (t-BMA), hydrogenated methacrylic acid butadiene (for example, Kuraray Co., Ltd., trade name “L1253”), methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, acrylic acid Polymers of polymerizable compounds having an acrylic group such as benzyl, polymers of polymerizable compounds having a vinyl ether group such as triethylene glycol divinyl ether, polymers of polymerizable compounds having a vinyl group such as vinylcyclohexene monooxide, oxetanyl Base Polymer of a polymerizable compound having a cyclic ether group such as oxiranyl group, epoxy resin, at least one can be cited are selected from oxetane resin and siloxane resin. These polymers may be used singly or in combination of two or more.
Moreover, as a binder resin in the case of using the compound represented by the general formula (1) in which R 1 has an unsaturated bond as a moisture scavenger for the protective film, a protective film having excellent compatibility and high transparency is formed. In the following general formula (6), the compound represented by the general formula (1) can react with the hydrolysis product generated by absorbing moisture and the hydrolysis product is difficult to diffuse. It is more preferable that it is a compound which has a structure represented.
The compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) may be a polymer having a structure represented by the general formula (6) or a monomer.
In particular, when the water scavenger is a compound represented by the general formula (1) in which R 1 has an unsaturated bond, it exists in the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6). In some cases, the Si—H bond is cleaved and an addition reaction (so-called hydrosilylation reaction) can be performed on the unsaturated bond present in the compound represented by the general formula (1). By this addition reaction, a compound in which the compound represented by the general formula (1) is immobilized on the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) can be formed. By such a mechanism, it can suppress that the hydrolysis product which generate | occur | produces when a compound represented by General formula (1) absorbs moisture diffuses to another member.
In addition, when the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) is a monomer, the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) itself undergoes a polymerization reaction, and the general formula (1) described above. The compound represented by general formula (6) and the compound having the structure represented by general formula (6) undergo a copolymerization reaction, and the compound represented by general formula (1) has a structure represented by general formula (6). It may be possible to form a compound immobilized on the compound. Alternatively, when the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) is a bifunctional or higher monomer, the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) is crosslinked without causing a polymerization reaction itself. In some cases, a compound in which the compound represented by the general formula (1) and the compound having the structure represented by the general formula (6) are bonded to each other can be formed. By forming such a compound, it can suppress that the hydrolysis product which generate | occur | produces when a compound represented by General formula (1) absorbs moisture diffuses to another member.
The compound having a structure represented by the general formula (6) is more preferably a compound having a structure represented by the following general formula (7).

R 5 can be appropriately selected from the groups described above in consideration of the properties of the target cured product. When R 5 is the group described above, the compatibility with the compound represented by the general formula (1) may be improved. Examples of the organic group include a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, cyclic alkyl group or aryl group, and the group may contain a halogen atom or an ether group. These organic groups may be linear or cyclic, and may have a branched chain. In the alkenyl group and alkynyl group, the position and number of double bonds and triple bonds are not particularly limited. In addition, as said organic group, it is preferable that it is a C1-C30 organic group. When R 5 is an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, the compatibility with the compound represented by the general formula (1) may be further improved, and a composition having better storage stability may be produced.

Further, a stabilizer may be further added to the first
1.8. Combination of materials of first protective film and second protective film In the light emitter of the present embodiment, the first
A substance having a property of physically adsorbing water molecules (moisture trapping agent) has a property of adsorbing and collecting organic compounds in addition to adsorbing and collecting moisture. Therefore, when such a substance is blended in the first
Note that the first
As described above, the light emitter of the present embodiment has an aspect in which more excellent effects can be obtained by using the respective materials and combinations of the first
For example, in the case of using the above-described organometallic compound as a moisture scavenger, this is blended into the second
When an organometallic compound is blended in the first
1.9. As described above, according to the light emitter of the present embodiment, moisture can be absorbed or removed by the moisture scavenger contained in at least one of the first
Further, when the second
Furthermore, if a moisture trapping agent that suppresses the generation of reaction products when moisture is absorbed is selected, the moisture trapping agent is blended in either the first
Therefore, the light emitter according to the present embodiment has a long lifetime and high reliability, and can emit light of high quality stably for a long period of time.
2. Display Device A display device according to the present embodiment includes the light emitter. Examples of the display device include a display in which light emitters are two-dimensionally arranged. Since the light emitter of the present embodiment has the

The glass substrate on which the organic EL element, the first protective film, and the second protective film were formed was set at a predetermined position in the vacuum chamber, and the vacuum chamber was closed. Next, the inside of the vacuum chamber was evacuated and waited until the degree of vacuum became 5 × 10 −4 Pa. Thereafter, silane gas, ammonia gas, and helium gas were introduced. The flow rate of silane gas was 50 sccm, the flow rate of ammonia gas was 150 sccm, and the flow rate of helium gas was 300 sccm. Next, high frequency power of 2 kw was supplied to the induction coil, and formation of a silicon nitride film on the surface of the substrate was started by ICP-CVD. In addition, in order to prevent the temperature deterioration of the organic EL element, the temperature was adjusted so that the temperature of the substrate did not exceed 80 ° C. by a temperature controller arranged in the substrate holder. When the film thickness reached 200 nm, the formation of the silicon nitride film was finished according to the film formation rate examined in advance in the experiment, and the substrate was taken out from the vacuum chamber. Although the third protective film is formed by this operation, the presence or absence of the formation of the third protective film in each example is shown in Table 2.
3.4. Luminous evaluation A voltage of 6 V was applied to the substrate on which the first protective film, the second protective film, and the third protective film were formed on the organic EL, and the luminance was measured. The substrate from which light emission was obtained was obtained at 60 ° C./90% H. The decrease rate of the light emitting area when left for 1000 hours was judged as good when it was less than 5% and judged as “◯”, and when it was 5% or more as bad, it was judged as “x”. The evaluation results are also shown in Table 2.
3.5. Evaluation Results From the results in Table 2, as shown in Examples 1 to 34, 60 ° C./90% R.D. H. The decrease rate of the light emitting area after being left for 1000 hours was good at 5% or less. In particular, as shown in Examples 18 to 34, when a composition containing a moisture scavenger was formed as the second protective film, the reduction rate of the light emitting area was very small and a better result was shown. On the other hand, as shown in Comparative Examples 1 to 4, when the second protective film is formed with a composition that does not form the third protective film or does not contain the moisture scavenger, 60 ° C./90% R.S. H. Below, the reduction rate of the light emitting area after being left for 1000 hours was increased and became defective.
From the above results, in a composite film obtained from an inorganic film and at least one layer obtained from a composition containing a moisture scavenger, a good environment is obtained when the inorganic film is formed on the coating film containing the moisture scavenger. It was found to be resistant.
