Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a toner end from being misdetected by driving a conveying means for a prescribed time once a switch means is put in operation after a toner deficiency is detected and then performing an image forming process. CONSTITUTION:The machine is stopped after a toner end sensor 22 detects the toner end and a CPU displays the toner end; when a cartridge is replaced and the power source is turned on, a fixation thermistor 24 detects temperature. Then when the heater of a fixing roller reaches prescribed temperature and fixation warming-up operation becomes ready (OK), a main motor M and a toner supply clutch 10 are turned on for 8sec and then turned off; and copy ready display is switched from 'WAIT' to 'READY' and the image forming process is enabled. Consequently, such a problem that the toner end is displayed although toner is supplied is eliminated and image is prevented from being formed without toner.
