Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten warming-up time by providing a fixation temperature detecting means and by performing the display, showing copying operation is possible, before the temperature rises enough for fixation by the output signal of the means. CONSTITUTION:A temperature 1 comes in contact with the surface of a heating and fixing roller to detect its temperature. A fixation temperature control circuit 2 turns on or off a heater 2 according to whether the output of the detector 1 is less than a set value or not, and during warming-up operation, it also turns on a lamp l4 for displaying that copying is possible earilier than the fixation temperature of the heating and fixing device rises enough for normal fixation by a time required for carriage of transfer paper from a paper feeder to the entrance part of the fixing device via a transfer separation part and turns on a copy starting circuit 5 at the same time. On receiving a copy startin command from the circuit 5, a copying machine control part 6 controls the copying process includng charging, exposure, transfer part separation, dischrging, etc.
