Abstract

PURPOSE:To demodulate an audio signal with small distortion factor and less noise by applying synchronizing detection based on a signal being the result of AM audio signal subject to PLL. CONSTITUTION:AM/FM changeover switches 6, 15, 16 are switched to the position of AM and in the AM reception state, then a 456kHz signal is inputted from a flip-flop 13a of a divider 13 and a signal of intermediate frequency 455kHz from an AMIF2c is subject to synchronizing detection by using the 456kHz signal as the synchronizing signal. Moreover, the PLL is applied corresponding to the signal of 455kHz in the phase detection circuit 9 and a pilot signal detection circuit 8 generates an output signal at a level corresponding to the 455kHz signal. Since the audio signal of the AM is subject to synchronizing detection based on the signal subject to PLL processing, the audio signal with small distortion rate and less noise is demodulated from the envelope detection wave.
