Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a nozzle from clogging by preventing fluid to be discharged from drying and removing penetration of dust, dirt, etc., by providing a means for intercepting the fluid to be discharged in the nozzle from the open air by magnetic fluid and a means for making the magnetic fluid retire to a more inner part than a jetting port of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:When printing is ended, a power source circuit 10 controls so that magnetic fluid 7 is positioned at a state given in the figure (d) and application of current is stopped. Further, a supporting apparatus regulates so that a pair of magnets 3a, 3b are positioned to a transfer block end C from a waiting position D. Thereby, the magnetic fluid 7 will receive a magnetic field from a pair of the magnets 3a, 3b. Then, since a pair of the magnets 3a, 3b return to pause positions B by a spring mechanism, the magnetic fluid 7 is moved to an orifice 1a from a position receiving the magnetic field from electromagnets 4a, 4b. At that time, since counter poles of a pair of the magnets 3a, 3b are different poles, the magnetic fluid 7 closes the orifice 1a when an apparatus pauses, and ink in the nozzle is isolated from the open air thereby.
