Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a variance of Vth and a contrast of every color by providing a liquid crystal cell which has inserted and held a liquid crystal layer, and at least one layer of optical anisotropic body between electrodes substrates, and providing a color filter in which the surface of the liquid crystal layer side is flat, on at least one of the electrode substrates of the liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:On at least of electrode substrates of a liquid crystal cell 10, a color filter 14 in which the surface of a liquid crystal layer side 13 is flat is provided. Accordingly, thickness (cell thickness) of the liquid crystal layer 13 of the liquid crystal cell 10 can be equalized as much as possible, and in addition to the liquid crystal cell 10, at least one layer of optical anisotropic body 20 is provided. In such a way, a display image which is free from a variance of Vth and a contrast of every color, and also, uniform and clean can be obtained.
