Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an increase in the fore/aft length of a motorcycle body by fitting a V-belt transmission and a transmission mechanism between an engine and a rear wheel, and disposing the driving pulley and the driven pulley of a V-belt transmission vertically. CONSTITUTION: At a power transmission system ranging from an engine 5 to a rear wheel 4, a V-belt transmission 8 and a transmission mechanism 9 are connected. In the V-belt transmission 8, a driving pulley 10 and a driven pulley 11 are disposed vertically. The transmission mechanism 9 is constituted of a drive shaft 9a, and its input end and output end are disposed fore and aft. The driving pulley 10 and the driven pulley 11 of the V-belt transmission 8 are arranged so as to be disposed vertically, therefore, a distance between the engine 5 and the rear wheel 4 can be reduced. It is thus possible to eliminate a wasteful increase in the fore and aft length of a motorcycle body.
