Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive to attain smooth picture switching by devising the unit so that fade-in/fade-out of an output picture is implemented automatically in response to the screen switching. CONSTITUTION:In switching the content of picture of a Video signal given to an input terminal 10 into a new content, the picture data inputted newly from the terminal 10 is added by an adder 12 and the result is stored in the picture memory 13. The picture data stored in the memory 13 is converted into an analog Video signal by a D/A converter 15 and outputted to an output terminal 16. Thus, the analog Video signal in this case overlaps from the state when the first input picture is outputted into the picture inputted newly and is being switched into the picture inputted newly finally. The fade-in/fade-out of the output picture are applied with simple configuration in this way, then the switching from one to other picture is smoothed.
