Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably obtain a dense piezoelectric porcelain useful for electric fields, having excellent properties, by calcining ceramic powder containing a given amount calculated as PbO of a Pb component, grinding to give powder, molding and burning. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic powder [ e.g. PbTiO3-PbZrO3-Pb( Mg1/3Nb2/3 )O3 ]containing 60-80wt.% calculated as PbO of a Pb component is burnt at about 850 deg.C for about 2hr to give powder comprising >=70wt.% particles having 0.5-1.5mum particle diameter. Then the powder is optionally blended with about 5wt.% based on the raw material of about 5wt.% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol as a binder and granulated to give granulated powder. The granulated powder is molded and burnt.
