PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic wire having a part in which magnetic flux varies discontinuously in the magnetization curve, by imposing tortional strain or tensile strain on a magnetic wire having a specified coercive force, thermally spraying a specified metal or ceramics on the wire in a coaxial state and relieving the strain. CONSTITUTION:Tortional strain or tensile strain is imposed on a magnetic wire having >=1Oe coercive force and made of an Fe-Co-V alloy consisting of 45-55wt.% Co, 2-15wt.% V and the balance Fe. A metal such as Ni, Al or Fe or ceramics such as Al2O3, ZrO2 or SiO2 is melted and sprayed on the wire in a coaxial state and then the strain is relieved. A composite magnetic wire having a part in which magnetic flux varies discontinuously in the magnetization curve is simply produced.
