Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the titled device, and to reduce its cost by connecting a pair of output/input terminals of two channels having an output/an input whose delay phase differences are different by about 90 deg. from each other against the input/output, to a phase inversion switching circuit, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A carrier signal IN is converted to a surface acoustic wave by cross finger-like electrodes 11, 12 for input. Cross finger-like electrodes 13, 14 for output are arranged so that delay phases are shifted by 90 deg. from each other, and its output is provided as a balanced type output to phase inversion switching circuits 15, 16, respectively. In the phase inversion switching circuits 15, 16, respectively, a switching modulation is executed by data signals DATA1, DATA2, and a modulating signal for QPSK is obtained in output terminals 17, 18, respectively. In such a way, by generating the signals of 0 deg. phase and 90 deg. phase by a surface acoustic wave delay line, and switching them by its post-stage, the modulating signal for QPSK is obtained. In such a way, the system can be miniaturized and its cost can be reduced.
