Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure good lubricating performance as well as to reduce an amount of lubricating oil consumption by connecting each lubricating oil feed passage, leading from a metering oil pump, to port oil feed nozzles and direct oil feed nozzles for multiple cylinders. CONSTITUTION:Each of first-fourth lubricating oil feed passages 25a-25d, leading from a metering oil pump 24 for metering an amount of lubricating oil, is connected to port oil feed nozzles 20, 21 and direct oil feed nozzles 22, 23 for a first cylinder 1F and a second cylinder 1R. In case of direct oil feeding, a supply to the second cylinder 1R at the downstream side of cooling water is much more than that to the first cylinder 1F at the inlet side of cooling water. Thus, good lubricating performance is secured and simultaneously lubricating oil consumption is reduced.
