Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce delay of injection into individual cylinders by such a construction that cylinders are connected to a in-line type fuel injection pump with injection pipes, where the cylinders shall receive injection in a order that the one with longer injection pipe will do earlier.
CONSTITUTION: In the body 1 of an engine, a in-line type fuel injection pump 2 provided with oil supply pipes 61, 62, a fuel filter 5 and an oil inlet fitting 21 is installed and connected to fuel injection valves 31, 32, 33, 34 through high pressure injection pipes 41, 42, 43, 44, respectively. The injection pipes are so arranged that one situated more away has longer way and receives injection from the pump 2 earlier. As the fuel pressure from the pump 2 is higher as it's applied earlier and a cylinder with the longer injection pipe is supplied with fuel with the higher pressure, distribution of the fuel to all cylinders is made uniform.
