Abstract

PURPOSE:To comply with the short delivery time, a low cost for development and the production in small quantities by a method wherein a controller incorporating a programmable ROM and a master slice array capable of constituting a desired analog circuit and a desired digital circuit are formed on an identical chip in such a way that the design of both can be changed by using a metal wiring part. CONSTITUTION:The following are included on a semiconductor substrate 1: a controller block 2 composed of a ROM 3, a peripheral circuit block 8 of a controller including a RAM and an interface block 7 such as a level shifter or the like; a master slice array block 4 where two or more unwired transistors, resistors and capacitors are arranged in an array manner; proprietary terminals 5-1-5-M (where M >= an integer of 2) for the controller such as an input, an output, a power supply and the like required for the controller block 2; proprietary terminals 6-1-6-N (where N>= an integer of 2) for the master slice array. In this constitution, the logic and the circuit for the peripheral circuit block 8 of the controller and the interface block 7 are fixed; if the transistors, the resistors and the capacitors inside the master slice block 4 are connected by using a metal wiring part, they can comply with the program of ROM 3.
