Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the temperature distribution uniform in the axial direction of a roll and improve the power source utilization efficiency by tilting the outer circumferential portions of a magnetic circuit separating body installed between magnetic flux generating mechanisms in the axial directions opposite to each other. CONSTITUTION:An annular plate-shaped magnetic circuit separating body 8 with its outer circumferential portions 8c, 8d tilted in the axial directions opposite to each other is inserted between a magnetic flux generating mechanism 2 constituted with a plurality of iron cores 3 and solenoid coils 4 mounted on and arranged in the axial direction of a fixed shaft 1 and the magnetic flux generating mechanism 2 of a roll device constituted with a hollow roll 5 supported with the fixed shaft 1 freely rotatably via a bearing mechanism 6. With this constitution, each magnetic circuit of magnetic flux generated with the magnetic flux generating mechanism 2 becomes a closed magnetic circuit. The part of the roll 5 near the border between the neighboring mechanisms 2 is heated with an electromotive force to make the temperature distribution in the axial direction of the roll 5 uniform and to improve the power source utilization efficiency.
